for all intensive purposes, this is the first layoffs in Canada, even if it's technically not a layoff because start date wasn't scheduled for a couple more days.

Anyone heard anymore about this, had an interview etc?
Heard they lost Indigo as a partner. Not sure how that's going to affect the launch, but probably not in a positive way.
Oooo, that’s tough if true. Any source citable source?

If your looking to be flying a lot and adding to your total time, might not be the best spot to go. If you get put on the King Air doing medevac, don’t expect a lot of flying.

Re: Chorus/Ggn/Sky merge

New government legislation coming in that is going to make companies that contract flip eg CPA to CPA pay the same wage and keep people retaining their longevity for pay and vacation. C-86 I believe. Oct 31st will be the last flight in yyz.

Rumours of mid next year for the yyc base to be axed. Not confirmed or substantiated.
Heard that too, that the turboprop contract is up come end of the second or third quarter.

Re: Union at Sky

Isn't Sky the best paying regional at $49.35/hr? And have a commuter schedule? And they don't have beat up airplanes. Based on the forums here, you don't see/hear the bitching and complaining like everywhere else. That's gotta mean something. Hoping they'll take over the jet flying from Jazz in YYC...

Re: Jazz Pilot Pool

I recently received an email from Jazz stating that I had successfully completed all the steps in the hiring process and I am being placed in a hiring pool. Does anyone know a timeline as to when they start putting people in Ground schools or how long it typically takes for them to give you a date?...

That seems counter productive especially since they need captains. But anyway, what is this calendar time duration? I've not seen or heard of it before

Re: Captain Upgrade Times

Can anyone tell me with certainty how the upgrade matrix actually works? Is it by time on type or are you stuck to whatever it says on the opposite side of your TT when you join the company? Meaning if I join with 2000TT, no Q time, once I have 1000 hours on type & 3000TT, can I upgrade then or will...

Re: Captain requirements?

I waited 20months from date of hire to hold YYC Captain on the DH8. ATPL 6500+TT when hired. YUL captains are pretty quick these days. Most Junior DH8 Captain in YYC is around 1.5 years by the month of training. Friend of mind just upgrade in a year to the day he was hired in YYC, so things are sti...
