Re: Well that didn’t take long for Swoop FA’s to unionize

The arguments are valid on both sides. A nurse has far more education and training and prerequisites to complete the function of their job, vs, an FA that requires only " 6 weeks " from nothing. The daily function of a nurse draws much more from that prior education and training, whereby an FA shoul...

WestJet Link

Well, this flew in below the radar:

Guess there's some head-to-head competition now in southern Alberta.

How did Airline become an essential service. I get that police, ambulance and medical staff are essential. People could die if they don't show up to work. Who ever died because they missed their holiday?

Sounds like WestJet is becoming the new Canadian Airlines, so it could be extrapolated that eventually WestJet and AC could merge in the future, thus if both were to be with ALPA, the same scenario would play out.

Re: Westjet's new Dreamliner livery & logo

WestJet obviously over stepped their bounds with this one. The "Spirit of Canada" and layout of design is a straight copy of Quantas, and to be making claims as the "true" national carrier of Canada is ridiculous, especially changing the logo to a maple leaf (not that AC holds a TM on maple leaves),...

I'm sure a pay raise would help out a lot more than a few passes for the hundreds of folks commuting into work into the most expensive cities in Canada haha.

Wow retirees bump current employees? How on earth does that fly? Is there a retiree union as well, casting votes for current benefits offered? That is correct. As a commuter going to work, to make the airline money so it can continue to operate, I get bumped by a retiree going to see his kid. And t...

Of course, one needs to use a little imagination when watching this video but......try to imagine one of our thread contributors as being the main character and as a pilot in uniform in this scene. It is a short turnaround and he has just used his AMEX card to get in the restaurant. I suppose the v...

I was referring to the shoppers of Walmart, not the employees :(

I think if someone has such a vendetta against their employer that they feel the need to "professionally rebel" by method of wrinkly shirts, I think they need a life hahaha.
