Re: Dumping outbase maintenance
You should have a talk with PACT AMEA and get them involved, hopefully its not a true rumour as outbase Maintenance is a backbone of the Tech Ops world. "back bone" thats a pretty bold statement. I feel we all need to stick together it's hard to see the other side sometimes. Agreed. While I believe ...

Re: Dumping outbase maintenance
So Mr Saretsky, since we are being all upfront and honest; is it your position that both the maintenance management team and the pact ame association have miss quoted you and somehow dreamt up and began warning about a non existent threat? I don't think that's what he said at all. What he said was ...

Re: Dumping outbase maintenance
My guess...Not nearly enough. Board of Directors and stockholders only care about stock price, dividends and profit. Closing bases equals saving money in their minds. SPOT, headstart performance and Guest Experience don't pay the bills.

Re: Dumping outbase maintenance
Well I have been speaking "unofficially" with a couple PACT members and this threat to outbase employment is legit. All bases without a hangar are in jeopardy according to them. I say unofficially because they have been instructed not to discuss it. This to me is inconceivable!! Who's interests do ...

Re: Dumping outbase maintenance
It is frustrating for sure. I agree that PACT/AMEA will be of little help in this matter. Management has to step up or its game over. Outbase AMEs represent some of the most senior AMEs at WJ, do you think that YYC, YEG, YYZ, YVR will be in the mood to vote for a seniority bumping policy when they o...

Re: Dumping outbase maintenance
It's been on every VP's to do list for years. Fortunately, common sense has prevailed and we continue to provide the guest experience at small bases that is standard at large ones. It is my sincere hope that tradition continues. I know it has been a burr under Gregg's saddle for years and most of us...

Re: Dumping outbase maintenance
Despite what Gregg might want, it's really up to the VP of TechOps to decide whether or not Tier 3 maintenance is cost effective. The party line thus far has been if we overnight an aircraft there, we will have our own maintenance. (Canadian airports). Of course, anything is subject to annual review.
