Re: Which US airline would you join if Canada merges with America?

Out of 85 posts only 3 mentioned what airline people would work at, yet you pick on ME out of everyone? Can you show me where on AV's rule list it says you have to be a 705 driver? Relax, no one’s picking on you. Your comments just happened to shine the brightest in the sea of irrelevance. And sure...

Re: Which US airline would you join if Canada merges with America?

wrong on all accounts! This thread drifted to AI putting people out of work, where were you when that happened? Where was I? I was valiantly attempting to keep the thread on course, despite the turbulence caused by those who, rather amusingly, aren’t even airline pilots yet feel compelled to lectur...

I’m not at all the smartest person, please spell out what you’re doing now? Also notice how I provide evidence whenever I can, like my screenshot about AI? People here have a habit of making things up and hoping they don’t get called out Fair point—what I’m doing now is exactly what you pride yours...

Depends who you fly for. I used to fly a falcon for a guy who used it like clockwork once every two weeks for one half the year. Never called once outside of that. Just like the airlines there are some gems out there that break the mold

Flying a business jet for a private owner who rarely uses it. Great pay, minimal flying, lots of time off, and none of the airline grind.

Re: Jazz or Sunwing ?

Jazz can suck it. It’s not like he took a Kingair PPC from a mom and pop shop and went to work for the competition next door after 3 months. If Jazz paid their FOs more than starving wages then they wouldn’t have people leaving. Look at the SWG payscale, unlike Jazz, it’s a career destination and n...

I'm happy to let other countries enforce their own laws, including those applicable to Canadian companies operating in their jurisdictions. I agree with your point that bribery is the norm in some other countries, and that we shouldn't disadvantage Canadian companies from competing on a level playing field. You both realize that in any of these places bribery and corruption are illegal as well right? Saying that we shouldn't disadvanta...

Why wouldn't you use the crew portal ? Yellow pass / Renewal. Foreign crew. Some places they won't let you go through unless your RAIC was issued there. For a federal organization they certainly aren't consistent. I've found some are great and friendly while others despise crew with a passion.

Now compare that to the US operators.... According to a number of users here we are not allowed to compare against the states. We can only compare against Air Canada which is allowed to set their own prices for pilots irregardless of market forces because they will never be short of pilots applying...

If you have 1500 hrs skip flying a noisy clothes washer and go fly a heavy for Cargojet. Their minimums are now also 1500.

Bottom line for me is that facts are presented in a realistic manner with supporting data and analysis to back an argument, as opposed to opinion being represented as fact, without anything to back it up. This is a good description of where the US population has descended to in critical thinking sk...

Feel free to play around with the proportions of different employee groups and their associated salaries to come to your own conclusions. WestJet and Air Canada pilots are two of the most rewards pilot groups in Canada. They make up less than 6000 of the total 20000 or so (my guess based upon past ...
