Re: Provincial C550 FO

I'm not sure who they call for these postings? Perhaps they only post to stir up the internal commotion? I as well as several friends applied previously! All of us wishing wishing to move back to the East. Even with a very full resume, none of us received a call! It's not always about what you know...

Why does an employer expect you to know someone at a place you've never worked? And how can that possibly be?

Re: Hiring mins for 2017?

How does someone which meets all the posted qualifications get an interview however doesn't know anyone that works there? Encore's minimum is 1500 hours. Although right now they are currently hiring people in the 3000 hours range....One of the best ways to be competitive is if you know someone withi...

Re: Best Countries/Operations for low time pilots

If I'm a typical Canadian pilot then all the up and comers should be excited. By "most" litmus tests of success in Canadian aviation I made it. Despite the perceived hurdles one has to face. Respectable 6 figure salary. Great lifestyle. Respectable pension. Best working conditions in the country. A...

Jazz gets the edge on long term outlook in my opinion, though neither would be a bad place to be.
I'd be happy if either one would hire people with BE20 flight time.

Re: Georgian and foreign pilots

Most people have no issues with pilots who come in Canada and obtain the right to work. I have some friends who have the PR and they have left everything 8-9 years ago to immigrate. I respect that. . Fair enough, and it is the same the world over. As someone who has worked in about 12 countries, pe...

Find yourself a right seat turbine twin job and I betcha in 6 months you'll have an interview.

I betcha that won't be enough, I have resume in with 4500 plus PIC Turbine and no interview.

Re: Who does not plan to fly safely?

Depends on what safe/unsafe means to you. We do 25kt tailwind takeoffs to save from having to backtrack, closed gate approaches when weather at minimums. My boss says get the job done anyway you want and never tell me how you did it.

Re: Application to first contact?

Piss off Nicky...why have the mods not removed your nonsense? To add to the confusion, I heard back about 3 weeks after an internal referral. I had been applying to each job ad as they came out but hadn't heard anything. I don't know if it was the referral that did the trick, or if it was just coin...

Re: Application to first contact?

Approximately 6 weeks. I know guys that have been contacted anywhere between 4-10 weeks after applying. For those guys I know it was the lower time guys that took longer to be contacted. (I applied with 4000+ TT, 1500 Multi Turbine PIC) Is 4000+ HRS low time? I have 3000+ BE20 PIC time. I'm still w...

I'm one of them Why do they need a cadet program? There are tons of more qualified pilots who would love to fly a 737. Oh wait.... This wouldn't be a way to pay pilots lower wages would it? No more TFW=hire 200 hr CPLs and have them pay for bonds, European style! Brilliant! :prayer: Nope, same wages...

Then you're golden! Why do you keep complaining about online applications? Sure I did but not now as they have left for regionals and majors across canada, many former Capt's whom I flew with starting out and many more past First Officers whom flew with me are all across the country.

If you're originally from the area and you've been a pilot for a good amount of time you must have a number of internal references. I don't know anyone from Ontario that doesn't have a buddy at GGN. One of them I'm sure can lock you in for an interview. I've never worked at Air Georgian, impossible...

Afternoon, Porter has taken many candidates with various type experience from King Airs, Navajos, Beech 1900, Pilatus PC-12, MU-2, Metro's, and Dash 8 variants (-100 and -300). Bonus if you have Q400. The important thing is that when interviewing, it helps to be personable. It also doesn't hurt to ...
