Re: To all the Senior AME.. I need your hepl
Hi Vodas: Acid is 100% right. The grass isn't greener on the other side. But seems to me the grass is shinier once you get some sort of aviation certificate on your resume. Fixing your own aircraft for passion or hobby is so much different than working on commercial aircraft. If you are passionate a...

Re: Job after working in the Canadian Forces?
It is not surprising to have avionics tech in the army.
After all, I just went to a department store and saw people selling their Swiss Navy knifes.
I regard this item to be very rare. Perhaps it is a collectable.

I do not think relocation is the only problem facing many young AMEs today. Young AMEs cannot go further North anymore. Any further North is in Russian Federation territory.
I am so surprised to see no young AMEs are participating in this forum.

Re: Vanity Fair's Article re: Aircraft Maintenance Outsourci
Don't be surprised to see a label "lavatory" on the electrical panel on some big jets. I already seen similar things happened on some Air Canada flights. Bullshit. You do not believe me! check it out yourself! A lot of the paint job in Air Canada were done in countries where they do not know Englis...

Re: leaving aviation for a new trade
Hello AMEwannabe : About becoming a power generation turbine technician / engineer; I know of one guy that did exactly the same thing transferring from aircraft technician to power generation turbine technician. However, that didn't happened in Canada nor did it happen very recently (more than 10 ye...

Hi Mr. Han Liu: Most colleges are about the same and they are all accredited by Transport Canada. If you really want to know more about aviation, please PM me. I really recommend you take a look and compare the growth of aviation industry in Asia and the growth in Canada. Looking forward to hear fro...

@BMLTech. Some had told me trucks in Canada never dies even in economic crisis. Drive near the Brampton area and you will see almost 65% of the road traffics are trucks related. Trucks deliver essential day to day supplies whereas airplanes deliver luxury supplies to cities and communities (this is ...

Re: Possible for Station Attendant transfer to Apprentice AM
I have a question. Let's say the OP becomes an AME apprentice for line maintenance, will he able to get enough experience and logbook sign-offs to get his AME license in the future if he is only doing line maintenance for a major airline in Canada? It seems like he will never do a major structural c...

I can't believe what I saw when I log into aviation Canada today. See the screenshot yourself.
Either we go fix cars or go practice "would you like fries with that?".
Is that a joke?

Good idea. I love to see AMEs helping AMEs. Especially helping them to start out. Please invite more of your classmates and friends to join. We should make the following T-shirt for the club. But instead put "AME NOT KILL AME". http://www.mysoti.com/designer/biggstankdogg/product/1328019/BiggStankDo...

Dear Dennis: You may even want to consider this below, http://www.icslearn.ca/aircraft/ ICS may not give you the best college experience (because they do not even have a campus and can hardly call a school. it is all self learning online and you will not get -- i think -- 18 months less of work expe...

BTW... one dispatcher booked me appointment. I arrived at the airport and they cancel my appointment and gave it to someone else. And then claimed that my booking never input. Absolutely no professionalism.

I am not going to spend any money on bad service. PERIOD.
If you can give some good recommendation on finding a good school. Thank you. If you are not, get out of the way quick.
Again, don't waste my time.

Perhaps you caught them on a very busy nice flying day when all the instructors were flying and dispatch was running off their feet." Then hire more people. The flight training schools ar...

Why are the flight training school so arrogant?
Hey all: I tried to apply for several flight training school and they all seem to either mis-manage all their bookings, do not even bother to answer your call and emails or to give you some excuses to mislead you. That includes many flight training schools around the GTA area. That even include some...
