Re: YWG in-person interviews
You can usually assume interviews in the ~fall and IFR courses starting springtime, that usually how the Winnipeg FIR runs things. VFR and FSS can run multiple courses in a year, so those dates always vary.

Re: YWG Terminal IFR Offers
You're being specifically trained for YWG terminal unlike the generic class where you can be broken off into 1 of 5 specialties. You already know yours, 2 of you will start from the beginning for generic terminal IFR, then once completing that a senority bid will join you for your specialty termina...

Good for you. Its only a 2 person class to start, so people shouldn't get their hopes to high.

Re: YWG process
I don't know if it has changed, but the YWG ACC is probably the absolute worst for IFR in Canada. Lot of cliques, OT shenanigans, etc. In 08-12 the checkout rate was below 5% and that only counted trainees that made it to the floor, not even the ones who were cease-trained in the course/sector-spec...

Re: Application Process Samples
The employee referral program seems really unfair to me Yes, it does seem very unfair to those of us off the street. However, they have to do something to increase the suitability of applicants, since the ATC courses have a sub-50% success rate. Since no one in the world has obviously found a consi...

Re: Differences between the referral process and normal application process
Online: 8-20 months of waiting for a light to change Colour. Involving an in person exam and 2 interviews. Referral: 1 day of testing and a practice simulation. Followed by an interview if you succeed. I know of people who have been placed on a course within 10 days of showing interest. The wait is...

Re: YYZ Interviews and Upcoming Courses
Educated guess: VFR: Pearson Tower IFR: Terminal or Airports Good luck. Wut? Short answer you should look into them yourself. (Google) showing you've researched the company and what they involve will look great on you. IFR you'll work in Toronto center the day you finish. IFR pays the most longest ...

Re: Anyone in Montreal has received an FSS formation invitation?
Hi guys I just received an invite for the FSS formation starting in December. Anybody else have received it? I'm a little bit disappointed for not being selected for VFR, but I think I'm going to accept it. Any FSS who could convince me that FSS is a great career even if you are posted in the North...

Re: NavCanada aptitude testing, only once a year?
You've attempted the in person exam twice? Outside of the wsim you won't have much time to do many calculations. Staffing in regions is what dictates exams and courses. If you're in the prairies you have a better chance due to lower candidates. But I know they are moving people from across the count...

Re: NavCanada aptitude testing, only once a year?
Do you mean the online 8 minute test? Or in person exam? My guess would be that the exams do exactly as you'd think they would do. Eliminate people who don't have a certain aptitude. The in person exam definitely has more method to the madness. The initial online exam is very doable.

Re: YYZ asked to change to YWG: In-person interview yet?
Winnipeg, St. Andrews, Regina, saskatoon, and Thunder Bay are the towers within Winnipeg fir. Your chances of being placed at any of them are all based on staffing. You'll find out fairly early what spots they are going to send you to. But who goes where is anyone's guess

Re: Take Charge site glitch - candidate photo
Someone can correct me if They have better info than me. But I'm pretty confident it would have 0% impact on you being selected for training. Especially after you've spoken with them directly. Nothing you look like will have anything to do with being able to do the job and they are believers in that...
