Apple or Android for Tablet Navigation?
Looking into buying a tablet (8 inch) for VFR navigation. Now the choice is Apple or Android? Personally I feel more for Android. All my devices are Android/Windows. Also cost wise Android seems the better option. But is it? If you say Apple you say Foreflight. I hear a lot of good things about Fore...

Re: Immigrate to Canada & Flying as Pilot
Yes you need a PSTAR and Radio license before your first Solo. If you have the TC study guide that will help you a lot. I think you can also do some online courses. These tests aren't too hard (my opinion). What I would recommend before you even come to Canada for a pre-training visit is to find a f...

Re: Changing from normal to utility category
How is it possible some C172's are listed as 'normal' and others as 'utility' then?
Where can I find this in the CARS?

Changing from normal to utility category
If I have an aircraft (let's say a C172) that is listed as 'normal' on it's C of A. What would I need to do to change that to the 'utility' category? Or is that not possible once it's listed as 'normal'?
(this question concerns aircraft models that are certified to be listed as utility aircraft)

Float rating
What schools in BC could you recommend for obtaining a float rating?
I'm looking for an experienced instructor who knows how to instruct. A small flight school/facility is something I always felt more comfortable at.
All thoughts are welcome!

Ferry flight with EASA license
Say I bought a Canadian registered aircraft. Am I allowed to ferry this Canadian registered aircraft from Canada to Europe with a EASA pilot license?
In other words, can I fly a C-registered aircraft with a EASA license (ferry flight)? Or do I have to hire a Canadian pilot to do so?

Re: Looking for recent or active students Calgary Flying Club
Thank you for the response beefitarian. Is it busy sometimes or most of the times?
shamrock104: just the things current/recent students like or dislike. Things that were different then they imagined. Good or bad. Nothing specific.

Looking for recent or active students Calgary Flying Club
Just started looking into flight schools. I am currently in the process of narrowing down the possibilities.
I would like to hear more about CFC from a current active or recent student.
Please send me a PM!

Re: Area to start flight training
Wow thanks a lot for the great answers! I prefer small schools who are more focused on quality instead of large schools that are focused on producing large numbers.

Area to start flight training
What I am looking for is an area to start my flight training
Are there areas that I should avoid (weather wise)? Or for other reasons?
All suggestions are welcome!
Thanks
