Re: Ooops, Jet Blue A320 lands with parking brake set . . .
No idea how it could be accidentally set in flight - but setting the parking brake will generate an indication on the memo section of the Engine/Warning Display. It will also be indicated on the Wheel page which is displayed when the landing gear is lowered for landing. It's not part of the landing...

Re: looking for flight bag
Like KAG said, the Scott Leather bag is great. Rather buying it from the website however (where everyone gets the 'Airline Discount') buy it from Aircraft Spruce. There is a Aircraft Spruce on Dixie in YYZ, and somewhere in YVR....elsewhere as well I'm sure. By buying the bag through them, they will...

Re: Where did West Wind Aviation thread go???
HAHA! That was sk_pile_it? I was hired at WW to fly these unprofessionally painted airplanes, and when sk_pile_it posted this reply it made management laugh. In fact, what he wrote was copied and put up on a couple bulletin boards around the hangar to make people laugh. Glad to see you love the mana...

Was a good laugh having to tell a female controller today out of YVR that we were proceeding direct IWACK.

Bit of a low blow Raven. Didn't know that there was a competition. The Raven wrote:Anyway, it was a pretty minor event. I mean its not like he went screaming off the end of a runway like another airline I know.Davecameron77 wrote:feel sorry for the driver, he will probably be seeing some hot water.

Re: Porter Airlines New Summer Destination
I agree with you too Tony; With speed aside and following the whole 'Safety, comfort, sched' motto, I would far rather have the extra 14,000 feet + to climb than to arrive at destination 5 minutes earlier.... They probably could, however, beat us to 25,000. Those little hats the fa's have too are un...

Re: Porter Airlines New Summer Destination
Too bad the EMJ and bus will be stuck at ridiculous city pairing cost index's. Meanwhile porter is whizzing past us on the barber pole.
I'd give advantage Q400 on those short hops.

Re: Odd things you find when moving
While moving from YXE out to Toronto, my mover presented me with a box that looked unfamiliar. Once he was away I took a quick look inside only to find a brand new 19" flatscreen tv / computer monitor. Very nice gift from a very nice moving company. I probably lost something in the move, but still c...

The lucky Rabbit indeed. It's too bad that most those crews wouldn't even know about it. Right now that little plane is calling the pronto chant.

Re: Glider Time
I have counted glider through all my resumes and it has been represented through all levels of flying from turbo prop to now airlines.
Insurance usually seperates flight time between fixed wing and rotary. Glider time teaches many transferrable skills, so count it.

(only type of flying you are legally allowed to sleep while on duty). Actually you can sleep as a crew member up front on the narrow body fleet as well.... While only using the correct technique of course. Many 703/704 operators now even have a 'rest under supervision' program that is in place. Sle...

Tow Gliders... no need for the CPL either. Most glider outfits don't have insurance for a rear-seat passenger and with your 'passengers' being in a seperate sky vehicle, your all good with the PPL. Kinda a grey area that im sure can be argued either way. If your after time building and dont have any...
