Re: Any updates on training?
I have good information from reliable sources that there will be an FSS course starting in Edmonton in August. So training is starting again.

Re: Nav Canada Training After Covid
Hello All With more and more people getting vaccinated, with our neighbors to the south opening up more, it seems like there is light at the end of the tunnel and we could be coming out of the pandemic and travel picking up again in Canada in the next 3 or 4 months. With this in mind does anyone hav...

Montreal FIR acceptance rate
Hello All Given the fact that Montreal requires all applicants to be fluently bilingual , would you say this mean if you're bilingual you chances of getting through to the Montreal FIR is significantly better than all the other FIRs ? I'm saying this to mean the bilingual requirement would reduce th...

There is not much that can be done it seems in terms of preparation for most of the tests but it seems like there are a few sections that I cou...

From the job ad: ** Significant experience means that the candidate must demonstrate career progression in terms of amount, complexity and diversity of work experience. This will be reflected through work in complex Control Towers and Terminal or Area Control Centers and through progression to supe...

Military ATC Hopeful
Hello All I am interested in joining the air force as a Aerospace Control Officer, hoping to specialize at VFR or IFR. Re: Frustrations of a Military ATC and the Big Leap
What about the possibility of ex Military ATCs working in other areas of the world such as Dubai and the rest of the middle east. I know they take experienced controllers, do they consider the experience of he military?

Re: ATC beyond NAV Canada
I personally know a former military controller who had a speciality specific course run just for him. Its 100% on a case by case, FIR by FIR basis. No one goes directly to OJT in any scenario. Some classroom/simulator time is always required. As the poster above me mentions alot of people seem conf...

Re: ATC beyond NAV Canada
Certainly don't feel bad if you didn't make it through FEAST. Many, many don't. You can wait the 18 months (used to be 12) and then try again. As for trying in other countries, unfortunately, that won't work. They only hire their own citizens to go through the program. There is a company in the Emi...

Re: ATC beyond NAV Canada
I'm sorry that you weren't successful in the application. Would you ever be interested in becoming a railway traffic controller? Edit: Seems like there's a separate testing process for FSS. Perhaps you'd want to apply for that, get your foot in the door then apply for a transfer to ATC down the roa...

Re: FSS in person assessment invite questions
The manager of training in edmonton told me specifically that if you indicated that you wanted FSS as your first choice and you didnt pass the FEAST that you would be in consideration for FSS , but she didnt say anything about another assessment, dont know how much this helps.

Re: FSS in person assessment invite questions
Whats the date for your assessment?
Did you indicate to them that you wanted FSS as your first choice ?
I was told in the FEAST assessment that FEAST was geared towards ATC, so I believe that they are creating another type of testing thats a bit easier that the FEAST for FSS

ARINC and FMS
Hello All , I have a few questions related to ARINC 424 and FMS and I seem to have difficulty finding them. If anyone know any resources online that would help me I would appreciate it. Notice period for assessment or bootcamp.
Hello all I was just wondering if anyone has an idea of the minimum notice period that Nav Canada gives you to appear to do FEAST or bootcamp. In other words, when they send you the email to appear for an assessment how much time do you normally have. I plan on leaving the country for a bit and I wo...
