Re: One list
I reckon this vote had ZERO to do with the so called language with the LOA, and more to do with the OTS influencing the masses with their BS. Yes, all mainline folks are disgruntled because of the Kaplan shit show, and those that voted against their brothers just had to display a temper tantrum. Pis...
Re: One list
Thanks guys. You've really emphasized that WestJet and Encore are separate, and we're not on the same team. I can't speak for everyone, but I for one am done helping you, and I'm going to take every small opportunity I have to jab back at you. To the guys who used my jumpseat to get home on the las...
Re: One list
Never in my lifetime of flying would I ever think WJ pilots would want to sewer their fellow Encore pilots, I expected this from company, but now the WJ pilots who are saying NO are most definitely not going to be respected by Encore pilots, their partners, anyone who has any values in their body. ...

Re: Encore contract negotiations
Happy for the Encore guys and gals! I think it's a great starting agreement! Well done. Dave I believe that many Encore people voted this contract in because it’s somehow tied to the main seniority list. But, from what I understand, is that the seniority list is dependant on what the WJ Pilots vote...

Re: Encore contract negotiations
Encore One List without YOS is going to be the recipe for complete disaster in a couple of years. So I guess you’ll get to see the Air Ontario movie again. It makes it difficult for WJ to attract qualified candidates who sit at the bottom of the Encore mountain of seniority numbers. It doesn’t offe...

Re: Encore contract negotiations
Are they getting YEARS OF SERVICE? The way I read the post above, no YOS. You get 1200 / month for 24 months when you flow to WJ. That means first year salary is closer to 68k (54k+14 top up) and second year you're around 72k or so. Correct? Smart move by management, looks like typical flow takes a...

Re: Hiring outlook
Christ... Everything ok man? Someone is salty about life. You obviously don’t have first hand info about CURRENT Encore so why waste time and stress over bashing it. I agree. If you want to go to AC, go to Jazz. End of story. You shouldn’t go to Encore if you don’t want to end up at WJ mainline. Si...

Re: Hiring outlook
If you want any sort of life outside of work - I would avoid Encore entirely. The guys that left there have ZERO positive things to say about the place. You will be worked to the max almost all the time, and your duty days will almost always be unnecessarily high in hours (not flight time). Encore’...

Re: SWOOP - A New Hires Future
Vindicated.
Let’s be clear, while OTS didn’t help matters, it is in fact the COMPANY that started this disaster, and it’s the shareholders and BOD getting the rewards. They just pegged the pilot group against each other knowing full well the outcome. Teal pawns.

Re: SWOOP - A New Hires Future
Sounds like a big mess. No doubt WJ is experiencing an exodus of pilots. I wonder, what would it take for the WJ Group to pull an extraordinary, positive move - and actually go beyond Kaplan’s award to say that ALL people under the hocus pocus of a corporate umbrella will actually receive the same W...

Re: Cancelled flights.
Note to WestJet: stapling a bunch of flights together does not make you an international airline. The B787 won’t make an ounce of difference (other than the massive capital costs) if you keep the amateur mentality. If you don’t have the fleet capacity wetlease a proper machine like everyone else fo...

Re: Harbour Air
You’re gonna need deep pockets to live in Vancouver on a floaters salary. Heck, even golden-era AC skippers based in YVR will tell you they’re just “getting by” - (although, maybe a divorce or two doesn’t help the situation).
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: Why does anyone want to work at WestJet?
right now Westjet doesn't have problem with recruiting pilots. With the new contract they can reduce mainline pilots by 10%. SO 140 ish people can leave WJ mainline and they will be fine. if you ask me I think Westjet wants to lose 140 pilots, this is good for anyone at mainline because this helps ...

Oh man, I don’t know how WJ is still able to attract pilots.
This company is getting worse by the hour.
