Re: Buttonville CYKZ C172 Crash August 24, 2020

This has got to be the funniest aviation video ever... i guess he never learned what that red knob thing is and when to use it.. going off the runway would have been a good time.. or maybe when heading full power towards a hangar? This guy needs to quit now... worst decision making EVER.. glad he s...

Requirements are the same for all positions, as you won't know your position until a week into groundschool. 2000hrs + ATPL are the mins.

Re: Companies Laying off.

I wouldn't worry about companies laying off. This virus will pretty much be the end of aviation as we know it. This virus is expanding exponentially and will kill off any remaining airlines. It's just a matter of time. Anyone who thinks this matter will go away in three to four months is out of tou...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

I just talked to a guy in training. The rumour was incorrect, I apologize for spreading it. The next course Monday is 14.

Sounds like they're expecting to be increasing the numbers by Nov or Dec.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Wondering if Iflyroads or any other AC insider has information regarding upcoming class sizes now that the Max is off the schedule for another month. Is it safe to say we can expect groups of 10-15 for the next few classes? Thanks, T. From my understanding the next class coming up has 40 in it. Tak...

Re: Air Canada staff will no longer greet 'ladies and gentlemen' onboard planes

No flight ops bulletins yet...apparently in flight have had one come out, but I haven't seen it personally. Victory, a small percentage of the population identify as "non-binary"..personally, I'm not in the know enough to explain it. I don't believe in changing specific laws to force people to use c...

It doesn't really bother me how I greet people aboard the airplane. If it makes a few people feel a bit more welcome, then why not?

Re: What's the oldest age one should consider AC

I forget what the min pension time is, but I figure it would be 25yrs. I've been with the company for about 2 years now, and have benefited a lot from the latest wave of hiring, so I'm certainly not working max days on the 320 as an FO (YYZ).This month I have 20 days off doing long turns. If you're ...

Nope, pure thermal flight in Southern Ontario a few years back. First to last thermal during the long June days.

When I did my new hire medical, my glasses wouldn't correct my left eye above 20/40. All they required of me was to go see my optometrist and get a new prescription and to give them the optometry report.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

1.5 to 2 years seems a little optimistic unless you had a reserved seniority number. I think the bottom 737 CA is around 3000 in the seniority list. I have seen 320 CA go much lower than that though. Good times regardless!
