Re: Becoming an Expat
I find it interesting that usually the anglo crowd (Brits, canadians, Aussies, etc) call themselves "Expats". Expat this, expat that. It's all very gay. "oh Lord, Toronto is so full of immigrants, so we left for Dubai where there is a great expat community..." They refer to the brown guy driving a c...

Re: United flight 638 diverted due to security concerns
Yeah.....United kinda lost its patience since that dude spread his feces all over the cabin a few years back. Then there was American a few months after 9/11 that got sued when the skipper threw a passenger out just because he looked "muslim", even though the poor guy hadn't done anything wr...

Re: What to do with my next 100hrs
BigEh - I agree with 1000 HP - the cheapest way, borrow some money, like a line of credit, buy yourself a plane - any plane - fly all the hours you need, specially night PIC, then when you're done, sell it for the same price or close to it. At the end, all you had to fork out was the gas, the loan i...

Re: Canjet hiring FO's
I'm not sure what their deal is, but just as food for thought, I've heard of and know myself at least 5 or 6 captains and Fo's with thousands of hours on 737s who have applied for those positions but never heard anything from canjet. I mean, they weren't even interviewed. So must of us don't know ho...

besides....isn't Canada outside the big citiies just another third world country anyways ?
oh yeah it is. Just ask any bush pilot or anyone who is not white or who needs real health care.

Many years ago I had a chance to visit the Aviation Museum in Havana, which is more of an outdoor junkyard with a bunch of old Migs and WWII planes that belonged to the Cubans before the revolution. There's a nice display of that DC-8 and a chart of the flight path from take-off to the explosion poi...

Those are very good inputs, so let me just add that IMO it's never too late for anything. At 27 you're still a punk, lot's ahead of you and it wont be until you do both that you'll find out where you want to be and do. I know a wrench who always wanted to fly, when he finally did it by his late 20s,...

1 out of 3 will ask this: "So, you carry cargo on that B727, eh? Why didnt you chose to fly commercially like a normal pilot? Do you have to study more for it ?" to which I reply "Oh, no, flying night cargo 22 days a month across the country is so much fun, I think I'll keep this as my hobby". Back ...
