Here's how it worked out for me and my wife. We spent in the ballpark of $4000 on gasoline last year. AFAIK, out of that, 5¢ on every litre was due to the carbon tax. Gasoline averaged $1/litre in 2019 according to my records - and I track gas very well. So I think the carbon tax cost us about $200...

My nephew started at voyageur as a flight attended. Worked there for a few years. Built a housing complex in east Timor. Got a job with a Australian company supplying logistic to un support troops. Now logistic manager at Volvo in Sweden

Having worked in Ontario as a contractor for 30yrs mostly on helicopters in mostly on forest fires. I have seen the Ontario air force mostly the omnr at work. Manitoba can't help but save money if their gov't run air services are run like Ontario's.

If I had to do it call over again I would go to embry riddle type university. They give credit for college courses. Certainly helps in looking for mgmt jobs with manufacturers or airlines.

I can’t see the sense in it..planes cost the same for fuel and mx; pilots get paid on par with the private sector; the only difference is that you now have to tack on an extra 5, 7, 10% for profit... Colour blindness never changes. Did colour lantern test40 yrs ago. It used to be only done at military bases. I never do the plate test.

Make min $500/day plus 55 per diem in canada. As contract ame. Would no go to shithole country for less than 1000 per day. Appliance repairman charges 80 per hr. Shows up in old beat up truck with bag of tools.

Great industry for college instructor. Work 8mths a year 18 hrs contact time/wk. Lots nor forget the xmas and reading week breaks. 100k/ yr great pension and benefits. No layoffs.of course it is all roses. Got to keep bringing in students to keep the college machine rolling.
