Re: AIP is dogshit

It’s interesting. I heard from a credible source that one of the guys never had any intention on striking which is a complete conflict of interest. Who to believe?!

Re: AIP is dogshit

2 of the 6 ALPA reps didn’t want it actually and thought that going on strike was a better option! This will go through barely I bet and will send a strong message that 40% of the pilots think this contract is bs! We shall see on Friday.

I am sorry but when 2 of 6 say no, there are some red flags.

Re: AIP is dogshit

All good points. What about job security?
Flag ship carrier that’s been around since the late 30s vs WestJet (late 90s) and owned by Onex. What are their (Onex) long term plans and goals for the airline. Nobody knows because they don’t say s*** and have no obligation to.

Re: AIP is dogshit

This contract sucks because the pilots at WestJet do not know what they are worth it seems. At least not the ones who are excited about this. Too many are blind sided by this shiny cheque coming in on Aug. 1. Perhaps it was all those years of cleaning up garbage in the back of airplanes which I beli...

Re: Layoffs

Does anyone know or heard if AC would accept a stimulus package. I have heard that they are coming very soon for the airlines but I know there were strings attached for the US airlines for example. I am assuming this could change the outlook of the bid and mitigate layoffs. Any thoughts?

Re: Layoffs

The fact of the matter is we are all speculating and have opinions. But that’s all they are, opinions. Everybody has one and the range can obviously be significant from one person to the next. Nobody knows how long this will last and what the industry will look like in the next few months as none of...

Re: #Swoopprez Out!

Highly doubt it if there is an airline stimulus package that takes effect. The companies want to mitigate lay-offs at all costs and to implement the PTA will cost WestJet millions of dollars in training and retraining costs. Management will do everything in their power to not have to implement the P...

Re: Layoffs

I believe that there will be airline stimulus packages from the government coming to companies such as AC and WestJet in the next 2 weeks. This is going to allow the airlines to get back on their feet much faster when the time comes. This will likely mitigate many pilot layoffs as well. These compan...

Re: Layoffs

My guess is that it is quite obvious that this will take some time to recover from. With that being said Air Canada was on the brink of hiring between 7-800 pilots in 2020 before this whole COVID bs transpired. I will be surprised if the people who quit their jobs to go to AC are not called for a gr...

Reference Checks

I have a question that I think I know the answer to but want some clarification for piece of mind. I have a great flying job but over the last day have recently updated my AC application as I'm interested in leaving my options open for obvious reasons. My current employer will not find out I have ap...
