Re: Jazz recent FO hirings
I applied at the beginning of August and received the questionnaire in early to mid-August. After submitting it, I got a call from HR about a week later to review my details, including TT, medical, and group 1 validity. My interview is scheduled for next week. Can anyone chime in on the current poo...

Re: Jazz recent FO hirings
You applied a week ago come on man haha. Applied and have been updating since May. 1400 TT 800 multi. I got hired during the peak of the frenzy and the process still took months and months. People need to reframe their expectations a bit. It's not a job at McDonalds, its somewhere you *could* spend...

Re: RCAF looking overseas to fill pilot shortage
The problem with the RCAF is the insanely onerous requirements and training programs that simply aren’t required and definitely no longer necessary in the modern world. Especially given that lack of personnel threatens their very existence. A Navajo flying into a northern reserve probably gets shot...

Re: Pilot with Cruise-Only Hours - Where to Start?
I hold a CPL and logged some flight hours before enrolling in the ab-initio program. Life circumstances changed, I married a Canadian, and we’re planning to start a family in Canada. Thank you for the feedback! I acknowledge I need to improve certain skills. My plan is to build more flight hours, p...

Re: Flight Attendant strike vote opens on July 28th
I have a question as an outsider, I was surprised that even though both the pilot and FA group work for the same company, there weren’t really any pilots at the strike? For all the people complaining about section 107, it was weird to see not much solidarity Even Jazz pilots attended the FA strikes...

Re: RCAF looking overseas to fill pilot shortage
Not to mention that this thread was started in 2021 and since then, the AOO trade was introduced. That alleviated by a good margin the shortage. Hiring airline pilots that hand fly their airplane the first and last 500ft on a stable approach (if that) is definitely not viable.

Re: RCAF looking overseas to fill pilot shortage
I’ve been saying for years, if the RCAF wanted to staff pilots better, they’d open the Reserves to airline pilots for non-fighter roles. AFAIK, in order to be a Reserve pilot, you have to have been an active duty pilot. For Herks, C-17s, CC-330s…. None of that is necessary. Those are airliners, bas...

Re: Pilot with Cruise-Only Hours - Where to Start?
I’m an immigrant with Canadian PR and a Canadian ATPL, moving to Canada next year. I’ve racked up over 2,000 jet hours as a cruise pilot with an international airline, but I’ve got zero takeoffs or landings under my belt since I started as an ab-initio cadet. My hands-on flying time is pretty much ...

Re: Porter application time
WJ hasn't been hiring for a year now since the merger and AC is just now picking up. If AC will keep up with hiring you'll soon start to see some movement in a few months.vrajshah030196 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 25, 2025 9:21 am This was just the application stage! I think market is really saturated. I guess lot of FOs with higher hours.

Any future pilot negotiations need to automatically include the ground pay, courtesy of our FAs and their awesome union.

Re: Recall of MEC Chair & Vice Chair
It gets to the point where you can't help but think there's something else going on. Are ALPA such giant pussies that they really fear the company that much? (Which, from what we witnessed the past couple days, what is there to fear from these incompetent clowns?) Or has the legacy of corruption fr...

Re: Air Sprint
Moral is at an all time low. The crews are getting worked like dogs in a never ending grind and then on top of that the tiny perks that used to exist are being stripped away by the penny pinching. Crews being told they can’t expense Ubers to go get food. Sorry but you got to walk no matter what the...

Re: Flight Attendant strike vote opens on July 28th
What are the flight attendants issues? They applied, accepted an offer of employment that outlined everything then end up whining. I’d say they’re overpaid for what they actually do. Money can’t be an issue for them, if one is struggling you usually can’t afford make up lol I fully support the comp...

One more thing…AVCANADA mods. Your website ads of Monika Lewinsky and Karoline Levitt with links to photos of them in their bikinis are disgustingly demeaning to women and are part of the argument of the disparity of pay between men and women. Perverts and pedos have too long abused human beings in...

We should get paid block hour AND 50% for all duty from check-in to check-out (that is not paid under the block hour).
