Re: Red eyes

Oh god when I was there, I did a YOW-YVR-YOW red eye turn and it was a line indoc pairing (poor guy). It left YOW around 8pm arriving at 10pm, then did the return to YOW arriving at 630am. I did it on OT but swore I'd never do that again  Still much better than Jazz's shit continous duty where...

Re: IFR like services during VFR flight

Hardest thing is to scramble and figure out the "switch to enroute frequency". Need to do homework for your route. IFR is so much more elegant. I'm in the same boat as you, I'd take IFR any day. Slightly funny when students/instructors/PPL are so scared of IFR when in fact it makes your life tons e...

YES!! And I dont know why you argue with CdnAvater. He loved a idiotic 20 years deal at Jazz and leadership that got tossed. Zero credibility. He's a boomer that is retiring within 5 years. It fit like a glove for *HIS* circumstances. Hits 200k without OT, green circled, DB pension, C2s, can ...

Because the objective is to gain command experience. I know you guys think you can just switch seats and be good to go but it's a different ballgame. Being able to fly the plane is the easy part. It's the decision making that is hard. Your ego is dripping News flash, an atpl is just a piece of pape...

Who cares about WJ??? Your pay would triple and you'd have true legacy airlines to pick and choose if AB becomes the 51st state. Literally no other group of people would win more than pilots.

I like it. Nothing shows how badly you had fallen behind like a 26% catch up bump on line 1 to start things out. It's a typical ALPA deal. The relatively new folks, year 1 and 2 FO get around 4%, while the top of the scale gets 30%. Just another example of how airline pilot unions eat the young eve...

Re: Flair Pilots Better Starting & Top End Pay Now?!

Why would AC pay better than an ULCC? Nobody wants to hang their hat there, especially with the risk of bankruptcy around the corner. Everybody wants to end up at AC, or a vast majority. AC has no legacy competitors like Delta or United has in the US. Are you seriously going to call WJ a competitor...

Re: Air Canada Captain didn't have required license

Its even simpler than any of the above. If a company is granted an OC in canada, (yes there are a lot, but not as many as there are pilots) that should come with a login and access to an internal verfication on TCs website. All they have to do is login to TC's verification site. Punch in the licens...

Re: Air Canada Captain didn't have required license

I’m having a hard time believing that transport canada records showed he only had a cpl and he was getting away with it all these years. I think it’s far more likely he was issued an ATPL when he shouldn’t have been and transport finally discovered it. Same here. there has to be to many checks and ...

Just curious what your stable approach tolerance is that holding 170 to the faf (unless you have a super strong tailwind) won't work? In YYZ most of the fafs are far enough out that should be no problem to hit approach speed by 1000. His company might dictate to be fully configured by the FAF, mayb...

So a legit meal can now get you fired. Got it. I'm not allowed to like fried chicken and watermelon. Anything else I shouldn't like? It's true. We are where we are from the last ice age due to cavemen flying their private jets and cows farting. It's not like the earth has a cycle or anything (and we are still far from the inter-glacial peak). But it would be a shame to miss this opportunity to push agendas.

Sounds more like a humiliation ritual than anything. Only in Canada are pilots degraded and disrespected to such a low level. Brilliant. According to the TC table posted in Flight Traning thread, the Jazz/Encore/Transat/Porter FO needs to go rent a Seminole to do a IPC so he can apply for the restricted ATPL
