Re: Aviation Document Booklet Renewal

NCR-023-2023.pdf Sent mine almost 90 days ago, still waiting, expire in a month. What a miserable process. What region you in? I sent mine in Dec 6th, Prairie Region. Nothing received yet. Ontario. I’ve tried calling and emailing. Is there any extensions available that anyone has seen? I’ve gone th...

Re: Air Canada vs WestJet

Hibeams wrote: Mon Jul 31, 2023 2:25 pm Good afternoon all,

A friend of mine was offered a job at both Air Canada and WestJet. They are leaning more towards WestJet. Is the schedule at WestJet that much better that its worth skipping Big Red for? I appreciate any input.

Thanks
If you have to ask, you should go to Westjet.

Re: Should I Go Back?

I quit my industrial job to go flying when I was 26. I would have retired 6 years ago with a DB pension if I stayed. I will never recoup my losses from the switch, but it's been fun.

Re: Medical validity question

CAR’s says “ medical certificates expire on the first day of the month. Validity periods are calculated from the first day of the month following the medical examination.” I fly single pilot so my cat 1 medical only good for 6 months. I did it March 10 th. Does it expire September 1st or October 1s...

Re: Mental Health Past. Possible to get medical?

Persistence is key to your success. If you are off medication and stable, it might work out.

Seek out supportive medical professionals only. Dr Brendan Adams, for example.

Re: Skies Magazine - Industry in Crisis

I was just reading the latest skies magazine edition, where they have this article covering how the 703 world is in crisis. Interesting is that they didn’t ask the opinion of any pilots to make the article, only air operator management and owners. So it got me curious about what you all think about...

Re: Circling Procedures

Yes (assuming ATC clears you for it). You're going to hate me for yet another question haha. Sorry. Then say I have to go missed ON THAT CIRCLING PROCEDURE. I would follow the MAP for the original approach. Example: "Inbound for RNAV GNSS RWY 14L circling 32R" "Approved circling 32R" * visibility s...

Re: Medical Processing Fee

I cant seem to find info on this. I have a new type rating and I haven't seen an invoice for a medical processing fee invoice for a long time. My last type rating, they wanted my money before I got the sticker. So I paid them and got the sticker. I can log in to the invoice website for Transport, b...

Re: Is JerryRig Right?

Absolutely. Kids a fully smart enough and experienced enough that they should be able to do anything and say anything. Especially when it comes to making important life altering permenant decisions. I mean, the only things we don't let kids do/decide are driving, flying, voting, getting a tattoo, b...

Re: Is JerryRig Right?

You have to look back at all the stuff that happened in the past 3 years that people were called conspiracy nut jobs over and then realize that a lot of it became reality. Remember all the silly arrows in the aisles at the grocery store? Or wearing a silly mask to walk into a restaurant and then si...

Re: Procedure Turns

You are correct - page 4-41. I don't see anything in the AIM that's relevant. When you get a chance, can you elaborate? Ser RAC 8.10, 9.12 and 9.13. I looked at those parts carefully and I don't see anything that answers your point here about which uncontrolled airspace is being protected for you, ...
