However, my friend was told (something of this nature) that all applicants would receive a certified ...

I agree with you, my comments may have been a bit strong and I do understand the frustration here. However, I am just trying to keep the atmosphere on this thread positive. I know this industry is tough, but there are ways to break in and that was my point. What is stopping somebody from walking the...

Newsflash: Favouritism and the use of connections (family or other) is universal. We happen to be focused on one specific industry here, but it exists in all arenas. If people who lack some connections now would get out and start networking instead of bitching on this board, there would be a lot mor...

Maybe the time requirement was lowered to 1000 fixed wing to accomodate some of our military pilots who flew a lot in helicopters or just have low fixed wing time....just an idea. And if that is the case, then good for the company...our military guys deserve that!

They did not mention anything about a sim eval. I don't believe that it will be part of the new process due to availability and the lack of necessity for doing it, especially for guys with jet/airline/glass experience. Remember, the company is trying to save $ and that is just a waste of resources. ...

Hey Guys, I was speaking to an Air Canada pilot recently and he some provided some interesting insight as to why they are hiring a lot of low time guys. The company seems to be concerned about having an abundance of pilots in the same age group. It is not so much the fact that they have low time, bu...
