Re: Wasaya caravan missing

In a perfect world someone would acknowledge the root cause of this and most of the other wasaya accidents and then a governing body would actually do something about it. But that's in a perfect world.
My condolences to the family.

I heard they are planning to use it to haul fuel. Either way I will be very surprised if they find a niche for it in this area but they have lots of $ to burn and anything is possible.
Anyone planning to work there, I am sure it will be a good ride while it lasts.

My experience is all fixed wing and I have found that all of the employers I have worked for or interviewed to work for as a pilot have been very interested in my maintenance background. The larger airlines don’t seem to place as much value on having both but they definitely like to see it. Even if ...

I found a boat will fly fine bow first or stern first doesn’t seem to make much difference. However, I can feel a lot more vibration in the elevator control when it is on bow first and for that reason I flew them stern first. As for left side vs. right, on the beaver it doesn’t matter because the st...

Vortex, As long as you are working in this environment you are going to encounter this type of thing. If you are flying a beaver then you should already know the difference between pushing it a bit and stupidity. The important thing to remember is just because your boss owns a beaver doesn’t make hi...

Nice video! I especially liked the footage of the old steam Otter. Smoke, oil and polished aluminum – great stuff! :D Good ole Otter flying straight into wind, steady as she goes…chucka….chucka….chucka :D

I just overhauled an O-320. The bill with new cylinders and accessories was $16 500. plus about $3500 worth of extras (removal, installation and little things that just add up). There is nothing wrong with putting an engine on condition, most will go a lot longer than there TBO. The question for me ...

Learn: clove hitch, bowline, round turn two half hitches and double figure 8. Once you know the knots you will find where they work well. Keep knot tying as simple as possible especially on externals. I perfer ropes over herc straps(marine quallity line tied properly is simple and strong). In the be...

The 802 came with the new chief pilot. My guess is it won't do much of anything in armstrong.

You will save a lot of study time if you let them tell you what you really need to know first. As long as you have a rough idea what's going on when you go to the course. I wasted a lot of time studying material that isn't on the exams.
