You don't need 100 night PIC? It's 100 night of which 25 must be night XC PIC. 75 of it can be in the right seat.

I always thought that it was simply due to the fact that a DA makes allowance for a slight dip below that altitude when commencing a missed approach whereas an MDA does not need to make any such allowance. But then I have never encountered an approach with a difference as large as the OP's example....

Airlines do not use the "chop and drop" method anymore and must use constant descent angle procedures without leveling out at MDA. Are we talking only Airlines? Or legally speaking? Because you most definitely CAN level off at the MDA if you like and past the FAF you're good down to whatever the MD...

More than most 703 Captains make so there's that... Just wouldn't want to take a pay cut coming from medevac or 704 left seat gigs. Would be tough..

Encore's minimum is 1500 hours. Although right now they are currently hiring people in the 3000 hours range.... They are hiring 1500-1700 hours pilots right now. That could be, I have coffee with some WJA pilots, and my dad is a pilot there (for 18 years now) and that's what they are telling me.......

I'd recommend your friend go to another school.

The lowest I've heard of is 1700ish hours from a military background on heavy multi-engine aircraft. My GUESS is that 2000tt+ is the minimum necessary to be competitive. Agreed - if you want to keep people around, then pay them a little better. I have a hard time thinking that 12 x$5800 =$69600/yr is enough of a draw to bring people to Iqaluit for 2 years, with no rotation... That's what I was thinking. For that pay? No Thanks. Give it another year or so and a lot ...

One other thing, if you don't want to blow power steering pumps put in some winter fluid. It's thinner and better in the cold. I blew two pump seals.
