Re: Confederation Sept 2008
I agree, everyone is taught to the same standard which is quite high. If you don't get it or can't figure it out, then it shows on your final mark/test result. Reading some of these posts about it not being right or fair/not being able to see your test results/ a high failure rate, is sad yes, wrong...

I'll throw my 2 cents in. Flight delayed due to low ceilings and fog. Pax approaches the gate agent and tells the agent that he just phoned his wife and she looked out the window and can see clear across the lake at their home. How come we're not flying? I wish that I could have told him(thou...

Yeah, I agree money up front is hard to swallow. If your with the company and still within your first two years, to jump to another aircraft say B99 to Metro only requires a promissary note, no money. So why not just have it that way right off the bat when signing on. I know people that started at J...

Take a deep breath and quit looking at the negative side of things. Yeah, bonds suck I agree but if you can't see past the bond or the 2 year commitment well maybe your not cut out for this industry. That's assuming your going to leave within 2 years, if not, the job is great and probably the best p...

This is only the start, I think from doing some math that hiring will go on for a while, unless of course they already have a crew of pilots from the factory to help them get off their feet. Think about it: Min of 3 or 4 crews per plane, Capt and F/O's. Multiply this by their 10 confirmed orders mea...

I'm no expert but for the aircraft I fly you leave a touch of power all the way down to just prior to touchdown, if you pull to idle at that point you better simultaniously be pulling back on the stick to counter the instant sink your going to get from the discing and pencil like wing performance. S...

Hey, can I put my 2 cents in? Maybe the 1900 has no autopilot well the metro 23 doesn't either, and they have next to no wings or ailerons for that matter hence the lawn dart comparison. Wouldn't the theory of good hands and feet then apply to Metro drivers as well? Do we Fairchild drivers ha...

I think i can see why they want higher time people. For one, your expected to fly alternate legs/ make decisions/ and operate like a "mini airline" when you work for the bear. Not to knock anyone else, but you will fly every other leg as an f/o from start to finish, minus the taxiing of course. And ...

Watching that video makes me want to yank the keyboard off this desk and into my gut. PULL UP, WHOOP, WHOOP, PULL UP! Ouch, take about an upset! The paddle routine is funny too, I'm sure he's thinking "maybe no one noticed that, I'll just paddle to the dock and get someone to help me flip it over" Y...
