Re: Why sault college is not a great option

Exactly.

Can't understand why someone would prefer to put themselves $50 000 in the hole with a five yr prospect of grossing $30 000/yr if you're lucky.

The bigger question IMO is why tax payers continue to subsidize training when there are plenty of people willing to finance it themselves?

Re: Snowbirds Grounded

The military has already postured and told the government that the Snowbirds may be on the chopping block... http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/canada/snowbirds-may-have-to-go-air-force-warns.html I think Harper should call their bluff if he`s serious about defence. Nowadays the ROI on the Snowbirds i...

Re: Did you ever sign a training bond or buy a PPC?

If training bonds were really legal the gumitup would be doing them. Guess what? They ain't.
The military requires x number of years of mandatory service following training. Same premise I think.

Re: Vintage Wings of Canada Kittyhawk flies in New Zealand

Wouldn't worry about the Cdn govt. getting their jocks in a knot seeing as they can justify repeatedly sending completely empty VIP Challenger jets on trans-Atlantic flights for training purposes. The money is being spent..it's just whether or not there is publicity around how it is done. Somehow t...

It's unfair to single out Montreal. Same pathetic shit has happened in Toronto, Ottawa, Buffalo etc... I don't know why they continue to play both anthems. Having said that...Go Bruins! I had my 3rd lesson the other day But that is all i did, was 3 climbs, and 2 descents That sounds ridiculous to me. Not only would I change instructors but I would change schools if it's a possibility. At this rate you should have enough time for your ATPL by the time you get your PPL. At least she...

Re: Airforce from Seneca, How it works?

In the late 80's to mid 90's there was a program called Community College Pilot Entry Plan and it allowed students to enroll in mil in their final year of college. The program was only open to a handful of colleges (Chicoutimi, Sault, Seneca, Confed, Selkirk, Mount Royal etc.). The Forces paid the c...

Re: CF-18s intercepted plane on eve of Obama visit

There is no way the Russians would warn the American or Canadian government first Two sides to every story I guess... "The countries adjacent to the flight path had been notified and the planes did not violate the airspace of other countries. In this light the statements by the Canadian Defense Min...

Re: CF-18s intercepted plane on eve of Obama visit

The article says the fighters were "scrambled to intercept a snooping Russian bomber". That seems a little dramatic considering the Russians notify the Canadian government prior to the event. Good for the defence industry I suppose.

Maybe it's getting tougher to find higher time guys willing to sit in the right seat for who knows how long?
