Re: Russia Victory day parade Red Square video -127 aircraft

Russia still has some Foxbats in service. But chances are they were probably Mig-31 Foxhounds in the video. Hard to tell without the gear down.

Re: Russia Victory day parade Red Square video -127 aircraft

Yep. At least have someone commentate that know what the aircraft are. 21:16 is quite funny "fireworks.... or Chafe!!!" And the last thing I knew the Tu-22M3 wasn't a fighter aircraft.

Besides that, Beautiful aircraft and I am sure the noise was incredible.

Re: Opening Ceremonies...your thoughts?

Although I know that the opening ceremonies was not simple to put on. It made the impression to me that everything went basically fluid and nothing extravagent was done. The Olympic commitee knew that there was no way that they could out do the Beijing games, nor should they have too in terms of ext...

Re: Going rate for an annual

My rule of thumb when I did annuals was 10 hours for a single fixed aircraft plus oil, filters, linings etc. 20 hours for twin retractable. I also explained this was just for the inspection as long as there were no problems. Any problems found were additonal.

Re: CYHM FBOs?

Kind of makes me think that Glanford is going to be super busy on the May 2,3 weekend. Unfortunately there is nothing on the Expo website that says they are the only show in town. Too bad Penair got shut out from the airport. Oh well. Good luck. Haza, you will always be the one and only Ramp God.

Canadore! Because I went there. hahaha.

It doesn't matter which one. Employers are not looking for a specific school. All are accredited. All are good.
Just depends where in Ontario you want to go.

Re: Peninsulair locked out at CYHM by Tradeport!

The prop is still good. It may need a 5 year insp. which is only a couple of hundred. I would say around 30,000 total is accurate. Of course normally that amount is negotiated off the selling price. But seeing the aircraft is only around 30,000 you would have to negotiate your best deal. The plane w...

Re: Peninsulair locked out at CYHM by Tradeport!

I don't have the TTAF or SMOH for TDS. I know that the Airframe is relatively low and the Engine is past TBO. We rebuilt it in early 2001. It is very clean inside the airframe. Unfortunately it had a very cheap paint job done. When they did the movie with it they put a sticker over the Peninsulair L...

Re: Peninsulair locked out at CYHM by Tradeport!

Actually the airframes for the most part are very sound. The interiors and instrument/avionics need work. Its true that the engines only lasted as long as they did because of constant use. But a Leavens overhaul wont cost that much. The airplanes just need people to give them alot of TLC. High airfr...

Re: CF-18s intercepted plane on eve of Obama visit

I just loved the certain news captions that said Russian Jet bomber. I was thinking a Tu-160 or a Tu-22m3 but then they said a Bear. And I thought... thats not a jet! Get your facts straight.

Must have been a slow news day. It was just a coincidence.

Re: Peninsulair locked out at CYHM by Tradeport!

I can try and salvage some of it off the ramp.
For some strange but obvious reason, Penairs ramp is plowed all the time now.
I don't think that van will ever move again.

If I had a spare $13,000 I would definitely buy TGX.
