Re: Air Canada a different perspective?
Air Canada ripped the handles off my bag this past winter. I purchased a similar bag from the same retailer, sent the bill to AC. It was for a very reasonable amount. AC reimbursed me for the full invoice amount, only took two weeks. Never had a problem with AC.

Still shows they have an operations certificate. I think everyone has a story or three about that place. Some are not flattering.

Re: The helicopter industry searches for the next generation
From what I’m seeing some operators are grossly abusing the TFW program. There’s no protection for domestic pilots and ames in Canada Awww yeeaaa i got (insert time needed for contact) flying my buddies squirrel around the didgery doooo. TFW and Holiday working visas both exploited by a few well kn...

Re: Helicopter Accidentally Drops Load Thread
Aerial work, you can't fly over built up areas or people. This mitigates risk to the public. Some aircraft have a terrible set up IMO for emergency release buttons location. The biggest failing i've seen is how companies treat lifting gear, everything below the belly hook is not certified. Remote ho...

Re: Moving around the country and out of province vehicles?
I disclosed to ICBC i would have my vehicle out of BC for 6 months, was doing a seasonal gig in onterrible. They happily asked for $400 more for that privilege. I'm not sure if i would have been covered, technically if your working in a province for more than few months your suppose to switch licenc...

Re: EB2 NIW Visa
Have gotten the same mixed messages. The requirements for an EB2 are super vague, i guess its how they spin you being "special". Lawyer said i'm special, but they're also wanting a decent chunk of change. It's also worth looking into the tax implications of having a green card, unless you plan to ex...

Re: What’s going on?
The only thing keeping me in Canada is the lack of a US visa and international work seems hard to come by for a VFR utility pilot or at least companies you would want to work for. You have to get a sponsorship that’s all. The states love our pilots Easier said than done, unless you're willing to sh...

Re: Converting too australian license
If I'm not mistaken, if your under 30 you can get a 1 year work visa, talk to a school down there for your conversion and maybe consider looking at the instruction route. Most guys from down there that I have worked with flew tours, lots of nice coastline to be seen from helicopters. Best of luck Y...

Absolutely. There is about 7-10k in built in OT on top of those salaries, a fair amount of OT during the summer months too, but the base salary could be alot higher than what it is. All in all 120-130+ (capt) 90-100+ (FO) to work 1/3-1/2 the year isn't bad, but not enough to attract or keep people....
