ahramin wrote: Mon Jul 20, 2020 11:34 am Whoops, didn't see your post before I posted BPF. Can you post some more info on VFR departures? Think they would issue them in busy BC airspace?

I've requested VFR departures many times on an IFR flight plan and have picked up the clearance once airborne. Works well at Class D/E airports.

Re: Flight test before written exam ?

I mean you can, but why would you want to? Way better idea to just write the INRAT and pass it to prove your knowledge to the examiner before hand, rather than having essentially an oral INRAT exam for your flight test ground brief. Why not ? Too each their own. If you can read & understand CAP pla...

I came across www.inratexamprep.com today & their platform looks very interactive & user friendly. Finally some competition within that space.

Re: Terrible news for the Air Canada work force...

The generation of pilots that are at the bottom of the ladder will never see aviation as it was in 2019 in their lifetime. The younger generation is scared to death of damn near everything and that will keep enough of them From flying. If we get back to 50 % in 10 years I’d be surprised. NINTY % of...

CMA uses a mix of B1900's & Dash8 Aircraft. Common stops on the milk run include YKA, YLW, YWL, YXS & YYD. It's a blast flying into YDL. Some of the most beautiful scenery I've seen is north of YYD, I've even been lucky enough to overnight in YDL :D

I don't think a companies cash reserves are there to protect the employees. I'm pretty sure it's to protect the share holders. The cash reserves protect the employees and the shareholders - they exist to insure that the organization does not become insolvent so it may continue operations sometime i...

Re: Entire application process timeline?

I was in the hiring pool last year but took an offer with another 705 company as they offered an earlier GS date - a decision I needed to make for family reasons. I talked to HR at Jazz and withdrew my application. I've applied again recently - just wondering if my chances are low now for getting a...

Commuting from Sunshine Coast/Bowen Island/ Squamish to YVR

Any professional pilots commute to YVR from either Squamish, Bowen Island or the Sunshine Coast? Looking for some insight on pros/cons & if it works for you/would recommend it?

Re: Westjet v. Jazz

Good evening, So I’ve finally decided to leave my 704/705 company to join the airlines, and I’m hoping to get some input on my options. I’m presently considering Westjet (mainline) or Jazz. I still have about 35 years until retirement, so I’m looking for somewhere to hang my hat. Please note that A...

Re: Environmental impact of aviation

Climate change is a reality. I have observed it as a long time observer of the weather I'm trying to fly in, and the two polar research airplanes whose system installations I approve to measure it have proven it to me objectively. I see that in the last 12 years since I have been approving the clim...

Re: Environmental impact of aviation

It’s just a scam by the left designed to raise taxes. If Trudeau was serious about reducing carbon emissions then he would pass a law to reduce carbon emissions(less driving/flying/shipping/ trains allowed). Instead, he raises taxes and there is just as much driving/flying/shipping/train activity. ...

Re: Environmental impact of aviation

This global warming bit is getting to be a bit odd, we can barely predict the weather next week but we can predict a 3 degree temperature rise in 50 years? I'm from B.C. and I've never seen a shorter, colder and wetter summer than this last one, isn't it snowing in Calgary today? If this global war...
