Re: QATAR AIRLINES

What kind of second officer time are you referring to? Flight engineer or cruise relief? I doubt either will matter. Just look at what the other two options are if you don't have multi-crew, multi-engine jet time! I'm referring to being a flight engineer. I don't have experience flying "Command Tur...

Re: QATAR AIRLINES

Sorry, no I didn't see the specific info, but you'll most likely come across post's by Qatar crew - and you can pm anyone there. Ok thanks....as a matter of fact I know a female pilot that works for them and I just emailed her. She's willing to help but admits that living in that part of the world ...

Guess you are refering to the fact that it's Airways and not Airlines......

QATAR AIRLINES

Anybody know if QATAR AIRLINES counts 2nd officer time? Their site says that for a First Officer position that you require: Minimum of 1,000 hours in one of the following categories: - Multi Crew, Multi Engine Jet Aircraft - Command Turbo-Prop above 20,000kg MTOW - High Performance Military Jets I'l...

Re: PORTER buying more planes.

However, the woman heading the HR department is doing a great job at making it a very putrid working environment where employees are rewarded by method of backstabbing amongst ALL Porter staff in a very tv reality Survivor-esq manner. . you can't make an allegation like that without at least an exa...

Re: PORTER buying more planes.

Thanks ILS26.....much appreciated. Hear that guys. Time to dust off those resumes. Seems like a good company to work for and probably the only one actually doing any hiring these days. Westjet hired over 100 guys this year...... That's great if you have 3 friends who work there and a note from GOD.

PORTER buying more planes.

Just heard that Porter has bought 4 more planes with the option to buy 6 more. Is it true that Porter cancelled the last class of ground school for new hire pilots....or just another aviation rumour.

Bought mine 2 months ago on Ebay for $100 brand spanking new. If you want to go to a pilot shop you will pay about $275.

Seriously, why would you post this? It wasn't original 20 years ago, it definately isn't original now. Even if you got a "ti...

Just for laughs

Most have probably seen this but thought someone might get a few chuckles from it. If anyone has anything else that's humorous and related to aviation, please post. After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet," which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The ...

I have made a ton of $$$$$ on CWPC. It's a Canadian oil sands play and will be double what it is now before the end of February. It's just over $4 right now. It doesn't get any safer then OIL. JMHO

Good luck to you.

oh man, this is NOT a tough decision! (JMO) If the position they offered was FO, not SO, THEN I'd say tough choice there. You'd fly more if you stuck to your engineer position, IMHO. And it isn't so bad either, 1/2 my family are/were railroaders. SO's don't fly, they sit in the back seat. Early in ...

Biggest decision of my life

Within 24 hours,I have to make......as the title says. I have posted before saying that the last time I flew was 14 months ago as a medivac pilot (first officer) in a King Air A100. I was laid off and found a job with one of our fine Canadian Railways as a conductor. They pay me $60,000 yr to work 2...
