What about 3 meat? Maybe you could get your profit share in the form of 3 meat.

Re: Northwest Company

I believe NWC only has one captain. So they're most likely just hiring replacement FO's as the guys build time and move on. If they wanted to retain people they should let them fly co-captain once they become competent. It's not like this guy needs more cessna twin PIC time.

Re: hiring at Jazz!!!

looks can be deceiving my friend. i'm well aware that this is the 2nd group of CAAC grads that JALP has hired. i also know exactly what JALP's motivation is regarding this issue which i'll openly discuss with you on the ALPA Webboard. For what it's worth, I heard that the second round of college ki...

Re: I just don't get it..some explain?

Simple question. Your going into a busy airport. You have no idea how far down wind you will go. Remember fuel consumption at low altitude is much higher than at high altitude. Do you plan for a long down wind and start down slightly late and use spoiler if required? Or do you start down exactly as...

flies 10KTAS slower (265KTAS versus 275KTAS) and costs approximately That number is why so many people got hoodwinked into buying this aircraft. It is NOT 10 kts slower when you look at block speeds. It is more like 40 kts slower. For example, the Ornge dispatch centre keeps stats on all aircraft i...

Thunder Bay and Sault Ste Marie I really love. Sudbury is so fucking bleak, even more so now with the downturn in the mining.

Wouldn't that be a DC plan if they're matching your cash going in?

Re: Jazz or Porter?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Porter just have one Captain's pay level? I couldn't imagine a 20-30 year career there with a lifetime of no raises. Yes on the good years you'd get a profit share, but in the bad ones you would get nothing. There are yearly pay raises at Porter. Consider yourse...

Re: Jazz or Porter?

The pay is pretty close to Jazz but you will take home alot more from your basic pay (due to no Pension, Union dues, etc) The take home might end up as more but I think there's a lot of value in what we have deducted from our pay. Having a pension is nice, health benefits are good if you have a fam...

We're talking about the AC 175 and 190s? They have fantastic seat pitch, no middle seat, IFE, etc? What would be painful is being stuck in the middle seat of a 737 with less leg room, no ife, between two fat people.

Re: longest E-190 routing...??

i think YYZ - LAS is the longest it does out of yyz. They also do a few other long ones.

YYZ-PHX
YYZ-YLW
YYZ-YMM
YYZ-DEN

I heard of them doing YYZ-YYJ, but I've never seen it. Maybe it was a ferry or, repo flight. Might work with a very light jet and super close alternate.

If they updated the fleet with 206's they could at least put intermediate tires on. Might help with off roading.

Re: Confederation College accident this morning

All jokes aside, there are some things in flying that can not be taught, like driving a car, some people just have that mechanical knowledge where they can jump in a car, motorcycle, jetski, AIRCRAFT and manipulate it, where as others really dont (kind of like having rhythm). That explains why I ha...

AstroNOT, I think you need to sit back, and reflect on your reasons for even remotely getting the IDEA, to begin this thread, in a public forum. Are you just edging to tell the world over a small PPL mistake at any expense/chance you get? Do you seriously believe this thread was necessary / a contr...

Re: Does the coolaid really taste as sweet as it sounds?

thanks for the clarification. neither does the ACJ rate by the way. so a 3rd year WJ 737 FO makes the same as a 6th year ACJ CA on any type. comparing net annual total compensation is a way different ball game i presume. The WJ guys don't get paid from park brake release, to park break set. I belie...
