Re: New TA?
Yeah a great deal.... You don't put a bunch of management wannabes on the ACPA negotiating team and expect to get a good deal.......AC is making the most money it has ever made, Pilot shortage is an actual thing, and we are still taking concessions for a shitty gain.....the new DC pension ain...

Re: Air Transat vs Air Canada
I left AT for AC a couple years ago, I have to say the grass is NOT greener. I was YYZ based 37 F/O working 7-10 days a month, productive turns. The money was good, the flying was great, I was 75% on the 37 YYZ and I could always get what I wanted off. I was having fun at work..... AC not so much. I...

I'm about to get my whole career Rouged... what a joke...
Right?? Big NO vote from this guy...but I am sure the group will vote it in.....Rouge is so much fun, being on the road in exotic locations with all those 20 yr old backend staff.

I don't think thats how it works....I was an OTS and was way ahead of the Jazz guys in my class.

Re: What do you think of the new uniforms?
I find it fits really nicely, although I am not a big lover of the fake back pockets. I'm 5'8" slim build......I can see it being a bit awkward for the "big boned" guys.

Re: Gen av in Newfoundland
Sure there is Gen Av on "The Rock"! As for which airports carry AV gas I am unsure. YYT used to have a flight school but it's now closed, there is still one in YQX. The weather as I hope you have already researched is 90% IFR, and even on a nice day it can go from Severe Clear to 600 RVR and VV 010 ...

Re: AC A320 slides off runway at YYZ
I was involved once in an aviation accident investigation. I wasn't in the airplane but had to answer several questions pertaining to the flight. I knew, and the investigator knew what had happened. But the report said something completely different and bogus. I was informed by this investigator, th...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
I would hold off on any kind of process with a feeder, if u have that video interview.
Hurry up and complete it already and hope for the best. Don't over think it, they want you to be successful.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
The guys that were in the pool for 3+ years were guys who interviewed pre-fly past 60, pre-PML, all these things changed while these guys were after being interviewed and told, all was good stdby for course date. I don't think the plan was to ever hold guys for that long. If you have a shot at the o...

Re: Questions about Evas Air
I thought they were going to be pumping in MORE money into upgrading the B1900 fleet, more specifically, the avionics. At least that was the word on the street last year. Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
I spent 3 years in the hiring pool as an OTS. First it was fly til 65, then the PML.....its a brutal wait, and at times the info is scarce.....be patient, take what you read on this site as a grain of salt. Keep flying hard and keep updating your resume with hours, education, etc. The future is brig...

Re: Air Canada Pool
Its about time they started OTS hiring rather than just focusing on the PML... How will hiring outside of the experienced jet captains and airline pilots they are currently getting from Sky, GGN and Jazz help the training crunch? Seems like AC is pretty happy with the way this is shaping up? There ...
