Re: What is the story at TC on Gulfstream Cert?

There isn't a business jet on the market that is more gorgeous than the new Gulfstreams. Thats just looks though. Not sure how reliable they are. Not sure why you are bragging about Bombardier though. What a mess of a company. It might look nice, but can you stand up in the cabin? Im 5'10" so I can...

Re: What is the story at TC on Gulfstream Cert?

In other words.. typical FAA letting the fox guard the henhouse that lead to doors blowing off and planes flying themselves into the ground. Whats the market for Gulfstreams in Canada, anyway? Americans buy Gulfstreams because they are American. Americans buy Globals because they are the best. Just...

Re: Mid-career switch to aviation — looking for real-world advice

I did it at 33. I was financially comfortable and had no kids. I had a ppl when I decided to leave and finished up my cpl before actually leaving. I did it the modular way at a local school. Instructed after then got into corporate. I don't regret it mainly because I hated the company and industry I...

Re: Garmin Emergency Autoland - Not a test

Autoland will permeate all GA sectors, though. It’s too good of an idea not to. CAPS comes with a performance penalty and becomes increasingly impractical with a larger aircraft which is why it’s pretty much limited to Cirrus and a few smaller planes. Ill say this again. CAPS (Cirrus Airframe Paric...

Re: Anyone have any clue what the proposed SALARY SCALE LOOKS LIKE WITH THE NEW TA?

The entitlement is what gets me. Hearing you talk about needing to “live the rest of your life” ignores reality. Everyone struggles at the beginning—this is nothing new. Plenty of us started on $52K at TS, flat pay at AC, or similarly rough entry-level airline wages, and we made it work. You’re not...

Re: How long does an instructor rating take (with a full time job)

If you have a CPL, you can likely train back up to CPL stick & rudder standards within the 30 flight hours required. But PDM is a much tougher thing to build, because it's a mindset, not a skill. There are exceptions to the above, and I've personally seen huge variations among CPL's stick & rudder ...

Rent 36000 36.... Thousand? 3 grand a month in rent? I'm no rocket surgeon, but that seems pretty high. Decent used car payment, gas, insurance, repairs 12000 Again..... 1000 per month? If you can’t live on $85K for a year, you’re doing something wrong. If you can’t live on the subsequent years in the contract, you’re doing something very wrong. It might be time to get a financial check-up. Rent 36000 Decent used car payment, gas, insurance, repairs 12000 Utilities 3000 Cell phone...

Same post 800 times now, despite the efforts of multiple posters. Back to the scheduled program. Roadshows conducted in YUL and YYZ, good turn outs, and clarification on a few things. Good to see the graphs where we stand compared to AC and WJ. We are closer to AC, but given we work less to get that is a big win. And with WJ next up to negotiate, they can improve...

You're right... the reason all the top countries on that list are doing so well is because of renewable energy. There is no correlation with people not showing up to meetings and them being satisfied with the contract. Thats pure, unfiltered nonsense.

Resignation is a very believable possibility.

Correlation isn't causation. Just because a strong economy electrified doesnt mean thats why they are doing well. The US is doing well, and they didnt. So maybe we should do what they are doing. Of all the major economies, the US is doing the least good. I'll let you research stock market performan...

China is facing a total societal and economic collapse in our lifetime. It is demographic certainty at this point. Their efforts to kick the can down the road don't hold up to real scrutiny. What is powering China's electrical grid, it isn't sunshine and rainbows. It's dirty great coal plants. Just...

Ill say it again. Canada is one of the worst countries in the world to try and eliminate oil and gas. Its too big, and too cold to electrify the whole country.
