Re: Pull up buddy pull up
I wonder how much experience the controller had with Vipers in IFR training. I didn't know they had any auto flight systems, I'd assume any turn would be at 90 degrees of bank at 6 G's with full burner. The controller expecting this and getting rate one may well have been an issue.

Re: ATIS Winds Pop Quiz
If you call 1-877-517-2847 you can compare the ATIS to the METAR. You'll see that for YYJ and YVR the ATIS is 20 degrees different from the METAR, so it is definitely magnetic. Perhaps your friend meant "we read it off the METAR and subtract the variation". Variation east, magnetic least (less than...

Re: Pilot hopeful with some questions.
Helicopters are harder to get into than fixed wing because there are no airlines to create hiring swings. Movement is based on increased work like during fire season, oil patch demand, and retirements. A guy once described the heli industry in the entire country to me as; 1000 guys flying full time,...

Re: Adding references
If the references you are asking about are internal ones from WestJet I know from my conversations with both HR and internal references themselves that it is preferred for internal referees to submit using the online employee portal. In my experience once you submit your application using the jobs ...

Re: Adding references
OK good I guess that's the next best thing. So there is no way to add them to the appropriate box later. I had let my license expire and had been working out of aviation for a bit and so as soon as I finished the IPC I wanted to get my application in. The references took a while to track down, re es...

Adding references
I apologise if this has been covered but I just could not find it. How do I add internal references to an existing WJ on line application? Do I need to delete my profile and start over? My references say not to because they've sent in the pilot reference form at their end but at my end the "If refer...
