Re: Cold Weather Corrected Missed Approach Altitude

Temp comp is the safest course of action. All IFR altitudes during the approach FAF, MDA, and Missed Approach Altitude is to be corrected. As you fly from warm to cold air, your altimeter reads too high—you are lower than your altimeter indicates. The only time you don't temp comp is when flying on ...

Re: The Ol' PFO

Why would you call yourself dashtrash ? I respect the aircraft I fly and would never give it such a name. If you can do that to your own aircraft it is clear you don't even respect others.

DanWEC...I usually just ignore your posts as everyone knows you're the biggest troll on avcanada.

Re: The Ol' PFO

Got the PFO a few days ago. College Diploma. 1000 hrs RJ PIC. Clean flight tests record. Had many training Captains as my references. Interview I thought went amazing. Very confused with the results. I’m upset to see that the groundschool I was supposed to be in was mostly OTS and next ones will GG...

Damn those haters pounce quick haha. I have thick skin so it doesn't affect me. Just a tip, it always pays to be nice. You don't have to be nice to me, just be nice to anyone offering help.

Re: Record revenues vs 4 year flat pay

Questions for those who work at AC:

What’s the current upgrade time frame?
What is the base salary for a Captain?
How long can you expect to be on reserve?

Hanging your hat at Jazz?

Just curious if you’re under the age of 35 and have decided to make your career at Jazz. What is your reasoning if you decided to stay? Note: I haven’t applied to AC yet. The reason being is I don’t feel like starting at the bottom again for schedule. I also find it ridiculous to take a 4 year pay c...

Re: WOW Air collapses

Their crew is stranded at the Sandman Toronto. They were supposed to operate YYZ-KEF tonight. Sucks that they will have to find their own way home.

Re: Jazz Payscale Updated 2019

In addition to the above numbers of almost $60K year 1 FO. I averaged about 15-18 DAYS OFF a month. Compared that with friends at SKY Regional who work 18 days a month. They always say they earn more money. But, it's how you make your money that's also important. I could've made more if I worked tho...

Re: Jazz Payscale Updated 2019

My first year pay as an FO is as follows. Gross $44,550 Per Diems $14,380 Total: $58,930 I only worked 5 WDO's (overtime days) the whole year. Per Diems are tax free cash. As you can tell the per diems add a big chunk to the low base pay. I posted this not for a debate but to show anyone interested ...

I voted YES in the end. Still not happy about the GGN DOH but ohh well. Everything else about the contract is kosher to me.

Jazz Payscale Updated 2019

For those thinking about joining Jazz. Here is part of the pay scale to help with your decision. Multiply the hourly rate by ~80hrs/month. Add on another $1000/month in per diems.

Cheers

Looks like the vote is swaying heavily in the direction of come into the property but start like a new hire. It's a different company you're joining afterall.

Re: 17 year TA?

Credit only after a 3.5 hr wait. They ran through the books and figured it only affected a small number of people. We should ask for credit after a 2 hour airport reserve. I think you have completely unrealistic expectations of what to expect in a cost neutral period. Cost neutral period haha. AC m...
