Re: Pass travel footwear
Guys, seriously, what is wrong with your airline (AC). I dread having to travel them when I come home, I started buying tickets on Westjet to avoid being treated like a piece of crap. How can you employees deal with it day in a day out. It drives me nuts and I only do it a few times a year. I feel l...

Re: Leaving Jazz....
I remember when I quit Jazz they can do something with your roster anyways, no matter your bid. Basically if I remember they just gave me as much flying as possible in the period before I quit. You might as well just give your notice and let the rest fall into place. They were also very helpful, I n...

Re: To the crew of WJA659 Feb 23/2009
At my airline a pilot will go back and inspect the wings before takeoff everytime we deice or expect contamination, no questions. I know most FAs can tell me if there is anything on my wing and I encourage them to let me know, but I'm not going to put my life and my passengers in the hands of someon...

Re: Newhires FYI
I like how WJ pilots always mention their salary and include the company shares (ESP) they buy(deduction from pay) and recieve. They also always include their profit share which is never a certainty. Not to mention I dont know a single pilot at WJ who doesn't do overtime, who does overtime unless th...

Re: Plane Crash La Ronge
This is exactly what I mean, I didnt want a lesson in respecting our elders. This is why I HATE this forum, it always turns into Cat Driver hijacking a topic and recanting some old story that may or may not be true, someone like otterfan voicing his frustration, then guys like FTB coming to Cats res...

Re: Plane Crash La Ronge
Dont be sorry Otterfan, the reason I stopped coming to this site is because every decent thread gets ambushed by Cat Driver and his cronnies. I only check in to see whats happening in Canada from time to time. FlyTheBug I think your comment that the CP and Twest have been working hard to improve saf...

Re: Cathay Pacific
Dont get that interview prep at PCC. All the interview guys were laughing at the all the Canadians who do it thinking its going to work. I did a sim prep before my second interview and the instructor was a disappointment. Absolutely no time in a 747 trying to teach me how to fly it. The 30 sim brief...

Bebe, you should be careful what you say. Your comment that engineers could just go find a new job, not a big deal. Remember 2009 is coming my friend. I might say the same to you then but I'm sure your opinion will have changed slightly when US regionals are doing your RJ routes. To anyone who think...

I was just informed recently that I was successful and will be starting as an SO soon in Hong Kong. From my experience the internet was an invaluable resource. Wikipedia helped me to understand many things such as typhons etc. Visit http://www.willflyforfood.com and get the interview gouge. Handling...

Dont worry CZEG, if you feel good about how the interview went then its just a matter of time until they call you. There doesnt seem to be a hidden quality they are looking for, if they like your attitude they will want to know how well you can fly in the Sim. Wait times vary from 0 days to a few mo...

Wow KAG your opinion has changed greatly since about a year ago. Did you just have a bad day today. I dont remember anyone ever saying an airline job is the end all or be all of aviation. And about chasing metal, Im sure you had the choice between RJ and Dash. Jazz is Jazz...you can stay here and ma...

55+ I folded my paper up, put it in the seat pouch ahead of me, this took at least 10 seconds and then I said to him “Sir, I am an Airline Transport Rated Pilot with a significant background and in the course of my training I opened a few emergency exits, think that would meet Air Canada’s standards...
