Re: Transat or Sunwing ?

Any company have their pros and cons. A quick look at both: As Panama stated, fleet wise, SW 37's, AT different types, but soon it'll be a common Airbus fleet. SW upgrade in a year or less if you meet the mins. AT around 5 yrs. Destinations, SW down south, Euro deployments. AT down south, regular Eu...

What's happening that they need DEC? Don't hear of any expansion. Retirements? Attrition?

Re: WestJet pilots to fly Swoop aircraft

Most are saying BOTL for the Swoop guys. It was recently mentioned in a previous post; but shouldn't they still be blacklisted/banned and shown the door? If you circumvent the blacklist now, it will have little effect in the future should a similar circumstance arise. Those facing a blacklist won't ...

Re: Wesjet encore or jazz ?

At Jazz, as of July 1st a 20 yr captain would make 129.98/hr and (2% increase each year there after). Guaranteed 77.5/mth, therefore base salary would be 120,881.40.

Re: Wesjet encore or jazz ?

If mainline is your goal, Encore. Quicker upgrades (they are hiring DEC) Jazz upgrades are about 2 yrs, maybe more. Guarantee flow to mainline, and I'm sure after the dust settles, Swoop. AC is hiring large numbers from Encore. Jazz just has the random shot at AC. If to stay at a regional, Jazz. Bet...

Or how about the companies give the best deal to their employees, then there wouldn't be a need to unionize.

Re: Exit Polls Showing Over 90% Strike Mandate Support

If WestJet mgmt or any other airline mgmt wants to make public perception of pilots bad, well that will only mean less people wanting to be pilots. Less pilots in the current market conditions will only mean better pay and working conditions to attract an already shortage, accelerated by initial cor...

Re: Captain requirements?

looks pretty accurate to what Inverted said, so I'd second that. The classics and Q's in YUL and YVR will likely see the most movement for upgrades. Rest is senior and/or those not going to AC. With that, it all depends on AC how fast/slow things will move. Rumour is less than 200/yr from Jazz. If t...

wow.... I'm at a loss of words of the attitudes here. Instead of a long winded post reiterating most of what mbav8r said, I'll just say this. If you want equal pay for equal work, why not complain to AC and ACPA for same pay they are getting. You are flying their passengers with AC painted on the si...

Can’t comment on the options for overseas re Georgian as far as the 12 hrs goes don’t read too much into that. They are sending 10 pilots a month to Ac right now with 100 committed for the year so they are recruiting hard. If you want to go to AC the Georgian is a no brainer if you don’t want AC th...

Re: Are paid training opportunities worth it?

I've got a great opportunity! Give me $60,000 and I'll train you on a Mooney. Then pay me $150 per hour and you can be my personal pilot. That way you will gain valuable experience flying a retractable gear airplane with a constant speed propellor. I offer the same package for King Air 90 copilot, ...
