Re: CHRT Decision re ACPA Motion To Dismiss Mandatory Retirement Complaints
Sage, whose location explains a lot (Centre of the Universe) and whose moniker, I believe, misrepresents his acumen regarding the FP60 issue, nonetheless drew a chuckle from me by stating his plan to retire “as soon as” he can get a “full unreduced pension”. And “thank you” no less. When I started ...

Re: CHRT Decision re ACPA Motion To Dismiss Mandatory Retirement Complaints
I'm happy with my current position and bid for lifestyle and I also plan to retire as soon as I can get full unreducd pension thank you. I got here because pilots ahead of me retired. It's not 2 years like they have you believe so like I said read up about it. Stay out of it if you don't a horse in ...

Re: CHRT Decision re ACPA Motion To Dismiss Mandatory Retirement Complaints
I find it so sad that courts and public perception are stuck in a stereotype of the dinosaur era. Life expectancy and general health are way over the standards of the 60's, and, 65 is the new 50 for virtually everybody in society, including pilots. Sad indeed. You don't know anything about this. I ...

Bring your letter with you, it won't be an issue. If I remember correctly, they had me place colours in order of lightest to darkest shade in place of the Ishihara plates. Its been a while so I don't remember the name do the test. Thanks! I actually ended up doing the lantern test and I have the re...

No back pockets in the pants and no outside pockets in the tunic. It's like the clothes actors wear on stage, it's for looks not function. Our uniform has become a costume There are outside pockets on the tunic. Like any other blazer or suit jacket, you will have to cut the thread that closes the p...

Re: ILS clearance under Low visibility operations
Yes there is a CAT II minima box alongside a CAT I and a ILS GS Out box, but title on the same plate for all those approaches is just plain old ILS 06. I'm curious, where is the approach for? I've seen it on the ATIS without the CAT II but LVOP. The terminology is like being cleared for the ILS 06 ...

Re: ILS clearance under Low visibility operations
Question for ATC approach guys: If the title on our approach plate is ILS 06 and the airport is operating under low visibility operations (RVRs 1200) and the ATIS is advertising low visibility procedures are in effect, does approach clear us for the "ILS 06" because that's the title of the approach...

Then don't get behind us. It's not a sarcastic remark. If you see us starting to come of the ramp, then speed up to get ground to hold us instead of you. Your beef is with your luck. This negotiations period is putting a lot of stress on us. We're making sure we cover all the bases plug up the holes...

Re: 767 RP - new hire
Ogopogo, look at it from a different viewpoint (long answer) - on probation, if management wanted to get rid of you, there are plenty of opportunities to do so. The one place everyone underestimates as a jeopardy to their career here is the first recurent ride. Unlike the traditional program where t...

Re: positions
Welcome aboard! Just so you don't get disappointed, the 320 is not a direct entry aircraft type. You will have to bid for that position after being assigned EMJ FO or RP. You can bid for 320 FO when the bid comes. The new hires that came a couple of months ago are now showing about 50% on the YYZ EM...

Re: Only 120 or more please..
Just management posturing. They are trying to rile up the membership in hopes that we will do something illegal. They will in turn run to Momma Ratt and whine until she proposes legislation to impose TA1. It's all part of the negotiations game that is going on now. We have scope clauses that prevent...

Re: WestJet Plans
Had to pick myself up off the floor after collapsing with laughter! There is a snowballs chance in hell of ACPA getting all "it's" flying back! Why would AC pay ACPA to do the flying when they can get cheaper pilots to do it? I think ACPA will be doing well to keep the flying it has now to be hones...

Welcome onboard! Have a look on the aeronet and look up where we get our bags fixed in YYZ. We get a 40% discount there on flight bags and luggage. Whatever you choose, I highly recommend having a look and take advantage of the discount.

Re: Federal Court of Appeal, on Mandatory Retirement
Well, we already know this government's position on mandatory retirement, and if the Dept. of Justice wanted to remain neutral on the subject, they would not be submitting a brief on their position. It will be an interesting read come November when their brief is submitted. I suspect it will be one...

Au contraire. If you are not interested or don't think it'll work for you, leave the interview spot for someone who actually wants the job.

By upgrading Lisa Ratt (misspelled intentionally), Duncan Dee is in direct violation of Air Canada's code of conduct. Gee, I wonder if he will receive the same punishment as the rest of the employees.

By the way, get with the times AC sold off the last of their stake in Jazz about 3 years ago. Yes, I know. Thanks for the "education". :smt021 I was in the family when that happened. If the comment was for the funneling of money, I'm talking about the CPA not ownership. Topics such as passes...

Re: Air Canada Interviews
Those recent numbers are correct and it's a great thing for Jazz guys and it was great timing for me. One thing AC did this year just previous to all the hiring was abolish a carry through agreement where Jazz guys could carry over 2 years of pay seniority, as well as travel passes. Put us on an eq...
