No transit subsidy. However if you opt out of the parking you get an additional 100$/month before tax.

Re: Leaving jet job for Q400?
If you still intend on going to the regionals to get to AC quicker, do not go to Jazz.
You will be held back by Jazz/AC and will see all your friends getting hired while you wait for your seniority to be allowed to join the mothership.

Re: 5 pilots on 737 laid off
I dont know if its specific to my fleet or not but there's a high number of guys are apparently failing their 1st recurrent PPC after their initial. Most likely due to training fatigue. Unfortunately, failing a ride is pretty much a guaranteed probation extension at AC. It sucks but on the upside it...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
I came to see the word on the street about this grievance Word is 200k + lump sum for every of the 285 affe tes Or full restatement of seniority Congratulation to Jazz pilots. I would much rather have that $200k now instead of a few seniority number. [/quote] Some of the 285 pilots could receive a ...

Re: Announcement Dec 17
Anyone care to give a summary for the relevant content for the pilots? Imagine most people won’t be digging through the presentation or know what to make of everything. Mostly things we have heard before but here we go: YVR A220 base by 2026 737 going to rouge, including a YVR base 321XLR looks lik...

I'd add: - Posties have been on strike for nearly a month. Somehow Air Canada pilots were going to get FOS Union dropped wage demand to 19% over four years in Canada Post negotiations: CUPW https://www.ctvnews.ca/business/union-dropped-wage-demand-to-19-over-four-years-in-canada-post-negotiations-c...

Re: Prospects for a new hire in 2025
Strictly speaking from a seniority point-of-view; YES, now is a good time to join AC (if you can afford the drop in income). AC is expecting 90 new fins to be delivered in the next 5 years (a good mix of 220s, XLRs, MAX. and 787-10). This means probably between 1500-2000 new pilots required. The new...

Re: SHOW UNITY. VOTE NO!
How?? How on earth can you make ends meet in Canada at one of the bases with 4000CAD, a mortgage, and a family... I must be doing something wrong, or your wife must be making an absolute killing. My wife is an elementary school teacher, I wouldn't say she is making a killing but she has an ok salar...

Re: SHOW UNITY. VOTE NO!
I'm a year 1 FO. I've got a kid, a mortgage and I finance my car. I can make ends meet but with not much savings. This TA provides a major uplift in pay and I can finally start putting money aside. If you still think there is no QOL in this TA go listen to episode 15 of we fly the flag. The ability to DROP AND PICK UP from open WITHOUT CS approval is a MAJOR QOL ITEM. You can basically remodel your awarded month after it's published.

Re: Go talk to a FACTS member before spreading inacurate info
Excellent advice. Im a big advocate of the same. The YUL LEC has come out publicly and told us that there was no secret ploy by the MEC. Labour Minister interference is more likely. Can you elaborate on your earlier statements now (one regarding alleged secret ploys, one regarding the more likely s...

Go talk to a FACTS member before spreading inacurate info
Everyone is entitled to their opinion on the TA. However before you go on here or on other platforms spreading misleading information, do your due diligence, and validate it with a union/FACTS member.

Re: 17 days??!!!
This is actually an improvement. NJA currently can be scheduled up to 18. This part of the TA reduces it from 18 to 17. Currently in our CA: 27.14.03.01 Should the system return with an “unfeasible” solution using the primary constraints, then the maximum days worked parameter will be increased in i...

Re: TA
You realize that binding arbitration needs to be agree to by both parties right? That depends. In 2012 Air Canada pilots didn't agree to binding arbitration, but got it anyway (Protection of Air Services Act and FOS). In June, 204 the WestJet mechanics didn't want binding arbitration, but got it an...

Heres how I look at this from the outside looking in, so pleas be gentle on me. I think this is a strategic ploy in the fact the MEC and such want it turned down. They have said, and are correct that if they went to arbitration that anything is game, however if presented to the group this is the st...
