Re: KA 200 pressurization/heating issue
A couple of things worth noting or trying. Simplest solution, sometimes the outflow valves get sticky or residue on the seat of the valve, clean and reinstall. Sounds stupid but you'd be amazed how often this is the culprit. Often manifests in erratic pressurization. Can also check the drain valves ...

Top ten things we wish pilots understood
Just writing a short piece for a pilot blog about the top few things we as ame's wish pilots would understand or not do. ie writing system u/s in logbook and leaving without talking to maintenance. Comparing how one plane works to another of the same type. Any HELPFUL suggestions would be welcome. M...

From my own experience, only the guy that will certify your logbook can tell you this. Go to the nearest transport office and get someone to look at it and if you can at all, get it in writting.

Re: AME tool kit
Don't worry too much about a kit, most of the tools you would get would be redundant from most of the things you would normally have around. Its nice to pick and choose the best quality and value from different companies as tools don't always fit all hands the same. Get to know some ame's and we all...

Showing someone the light.
I've got a unenlightened buddy who hasn't seen the light of fixed wing aircraft maintenance and got stuck in one of those "heli" cults. Any ideas on how to purify his soul, and bring him into the fold?

Re: Future AME Discouraged
Been following this for a while and just can't stay quiet anymore. I am a licensed ame. I really like my job. Yes, i said it. I like my job. The largest complaint that i have about the industry is the people in in. I had a nickel for everytime an ame tells me that we should all quit and move to anot...

Re: Pilots Working The Ramp
Without directing the scorn of others to myself, i think the main reason they do it, it at the end of the line the pilot in the air has total responsibility for himself, the airplane and the souls onboard. At some levels, i think that anyone who would trust my life, the life of the company and the j...

Starting or buying a maint shop.
Just looking into my crystal ball here, but I am thinking of starting up a shop working on small private aircraft in sk. Wondering about the best way to go about it. Should one buy into an established business, start from scratch or something other? I currently am in that rare minority in having an ...

GA companies on the prairies?
What would be the best way to find a small shop on the praries to work for, other than driving from town to town. (There's a lot of towns out here) Is there some sort of organization or contact group for smaller GA shops? Thanks

Apprentice looking for work
Hi, just wondering if there are any good places to apprentice out there. I have 3 months experience with varied M1 cat planes and just got laid off. I would like to work with m1 planes but would also be excited for a company with both m1 and m2 planes. I'm married with 2 kids so i would like a place...
