+1 to the PCC prep course, it was excellent! I feel that without them I wouldn't have gotten the job.

Re: Chorus shares
Is that because the company "changed" hands from Jazz Air Income Fund to Chorus Aviation on December 31st? Technically everyone sold their Jazz Air Income fund shares on December 31st and immediately bought a Chorus Share to replace it.

Re: Air Canada Jazz 757 Incident
This is an unfortunate mistake, but one that will likely be repeated many times in the media and aviation circles. Jazz wears many hats, eg read trade names, Jazz Air, Air Canada Jazz and Thomas Cook Canada. We are still best known as Air Canada Jazz and unfortunately until the world accepts us as j...

Odd they would go to the expense of upgrading fin 180-189 to 53,000lb birds only to start getting rid of them in 9 months. Ah well makes sense to someone I guess.

Re: Q400 question
According to an investor confrence call in Q1/2010, Jazz paid the delivery fee's for the Q400's in Q1 this year with its own money. I was also told at a meet the chief's groundschool Q&A that Jazz would control the paper of the Q400's. Therefore I'd say we will outright own them. With this new info ...

Re: Q400 question
I'll be standing by then for an official update. However it was my understanding that to get Jazz to agree to the CPA haircut we took in 2009 that fleet renewal was part of the deal, aka the Q400's. However as with everything in aviation it is subject to change without notice. I hope it's not true, ...

If the above is true, why then does the application questionaire still ask if you hold a position on the Air Canada Jazz seniority list?

Is that steep approach published for all airlines? I was under the impression it was a restricted approach, only approved to be used if proper training had been accomplished. I could be wrong though so does anyone know for sure?

Re: Jazz pilots contract?
No contract yet. Managment and the union are in what is called Concilliation talks, they are meeting with a mediator who is supposed to help both parties agree on a contract. However last week we received a memo stating that the talks had broken off and the union is now authorized a strike vote to b...

Re: Jazz (Thomas Cook)
ARCCOM Air Canada probably would have done that even if Jazz hadn't diversified. This is a better business move for Jazz in my opinion. We have a contract with AC until at least 2020. At that point AC can do what ever it wants in terms of regional feed. Our management has realised this and as such k...

Re: Jazz (Thomas Cook)
I work at Jazz, I agree that this is going to keep the over capacity in the vacation market going. However if not us, then someone else would have stepped in. The problem I am having, like Brick Head, is that suddenly this has gotten personal between two pilot groups. Air Canada and Jazz are born fr...

Re: Jazz Air LP signed an agreement with Thomas Cook Canada
Sask, I agree with you on the fact that we as pilots are our own worst enemies. However don't lose faith in ourselves just yet. There are a group of pilots out there trying to begin a new way of thinking. These are the guys forming the College of Professional Pilots. If you want the change you speak...

Re: Jazz Air LP signed an agreement with Thomas Cook Canada
Hey SaskStyle, Whoa bud, I don't understand how you think Jazz put Skyservice out of business. It was Sunquest that petitioned the court to have them put into receivership. Skyservice people should be pretty upset that their customer didn't have faith in them any longer. This has been brewing for aw...

Re: Jazz (Thomas Cook)
My take on this is that I am not too concerned that this move by Jazz to grab new flying from another source of revenue will bring any negative response from Air Canada. First Jazz has shown over the past 4-5 years of it's indepenance to be extremely cautious about taking on any new work. I would be...

Is the Comanche fuel injected? If not I'd speculate carb icing... but I'm not an engineer and its been years since I flew an airplane that had a carburator.
