Either the conditions are getting worse, or the pilots are getting greener and ridden harder... Sure wasn't like that a few years back!looproll wrote:Carson sounds like an awful place to work. Why would you aspire to work there?

I'll agree, however these stills are quite intense and gripping.TA/RA wrote:I don't think the term "great pictures" is really appropriate at this point. With all due respect.

Re: Perimeter
The Dash is a much more "tricky" plane to fly than a Metro. It has a minimum crew of 2 vs 1 in the Metro. It is an airliner, not a light twin turboprop. It is just alot more forgiving in the tough Canadian environment and handles better, is slower, pver built and lands shorter. Well, if you are tal...

I totaly understand how the industry works. One company, I worked as a manager for 3 years. All they did was give me promises, nothing else. So then i said @#$! this and applied for PILOT positions elsewere, and finally got a break. None of this NON Pilot bullshit. Wasent about to get burnt a secon...

I've been seeing a lot of CADORS on the metro crews lately. I also saw a carson metro taxi onto the active runway in YLW and quickly turn around. I heard starting pay for FO is 19000, and you need to sign a 2 year bond? Supposedly Carson will go after you if you quite before that? I was suprised to...
Just wait until you are vectored to a 17 mile final behind an ATR doing 130 KTS... 5 miles ahead. Even with their radar working, Nassau has always been a shitshow. It's even worse when they "go procedural", when the radar fails due to the last heavy rain storm. They mix every type of aircraft imagin...
Why the 200 - 240 pilots that serve Hawii? And what would a typical parring with routes look like for a Calgary based pilot? I'll wager a guess that the limited pool of pilots has to do with the fact that Hawaii flights fall under ETOPS. Doesn't quite make sense to train everyone for ETOPS flying, ...

I'm gonna agree with Clark Kent here. That is the standard. However, if you are applying somewhere off the beaten path... I would still consider showing up in decent interview attire. You can always have a change of clothes in the car, in case you are asked to "lend a hand moving a bunch of barrels ...

I'm not entirely sure if you're asking a question... ...It has to do with the engine that the props are attached to. Metro IIs (-6 or -10 engines) turn at 2000 RPM. Metro IIIs and 23s (-11 or -12 engines) turn at 1591 RPM. (You don't set Prop RPM in a garrett engine anyways, you set Engine RPM. In ...

the noise cancelling don't work that well on a 2. Something about the frequency of the prop blades being higher than the cancelling range. I used to use custom musician's earplugs from someplace that sells hearing aids. They cost about $180 or so, but you don't have to pay for a new battery every 2...

Does anyboy know if there is any TPC regulation regarding required "stamps" and/or "signatures" for a verification of a pilot log book entry? I understand this is common practice, but is there a law? Sorry, it's late... if you mean TPC as Transport Canada... I ran into this question and was advised...
