I need 5 hours "dual flight instruction with a qualified CFI" on type to satisfy my insurance company. The type is a light single engine piston. I seem to recall that an ATPL can offer on-type instruction without holding a Flight Instructor rating. Is that correct or am I misremembering?

I see that the EAA offers 2 day "sheet metal boot camps" at Oshkosh. Are there any better options for those of us down east?

I'm thinking about starting an RV-7 project. We live in a condo in the Beaches area of Toronto so it won't be happening at home.
