Re: (Required) Black hole departure.

As I understand " black hole departure " it means there are no visual situational clues after departure only blackness. So how can this be a VFR departure? Well, it legally is. On my example, off Burke Rwy 24, It's a required 90 degree right turn for all aircraft over the lake to avoid the Class B....

Posters who lecture on everyone else's stupid mistakes but on threads like "scariest moment as a pilot" with everyone sharing a story.....are then strangely quiet. Yup........

Re: Scariest time as a pilot

Paralleling a long, active weather front and cut the corner crossing the end of it, to get on course for destination. Should have waited for 15 more miles, clipped a couple of TCU's in IMC too strong for a light airplane, stronger than what showed on nexrad. That delay..... Was a ride for a few mome...

Is there any difference between a " black hole departure " and a departure in IMC with a 200 foot ceiling?
Maybe the required turn, in these examples?

(Required) Black hole departure.

https://www.flyingmag.com/aftermath-into-the-dark As Peter Garrison's outstanding work has been linked, I happened on this one profiling 3 somewhat similar fatal accidents, one fairly recent. First one, 1995: On a November night in 1995, a Beech Baron 58 departed from Runway 24 at Cleveland’s Burke ...

Our country needs more unabashed patriots willing to defend sovereignty and what Canada stands for, not the wishy wash version espoused out there.
If that is a hothead so am I.

Re: Cleared to Taxi to a rwy is not a clearance to cross any rwy

Some of you might have read the articles by Peter Garrison in Flying magazine. While I would never consider myself to be anywhere near his level of writing, I believe he has a similar desire to prevent future accidents. And there are no doubt many more similar article titles out there from all the ...

The gate keepers are the security and gate agents,
So why are the hooligans even allowed on a flight?

I disagree well with unlimited liquor sales at an airport.

You know, it is the airport that's too often responsible.

Sell loads of alcohol to folks before their flight, zero responsibility taken.

Or so it seems

But if you are a casual user, smart about how and when you consume with plenty of time to recover ................., I don't see any issues at all. And it sounds like TC has defined "plenty of time to recover", so we're good! Instead of "bottle to throttle" -- the new acronym will be "toke to yoke"...

I like the name... "International Pilot Academy". It makes it sound like the company owns 50 planes and is a prestige flight school. Just like the "Academy of Aeronautics" in Montreal
Add the word "Airline".

Is it Canadian airspace?
No. It's US airspace, managed by NavCanada.
Understand.
I did not know that applied to TFR's, but makes sense.

Figured that airplane drivers would be just a teeny bit smarter than the sensationalist journalists who are looking for a juicy low brow story.
Don't need the CBC. Just come here.

Somehow I believe boeing will resolve the issue.

Also, no need to check for TFRs if just flying in Victoria terminal airspace over the USA. If there are any restrictions, it will be NOTAMed.
That is really interesting. You would hope so but not knowing myself, I would be wary of assuming.
