Where did Dr. Gary Magee go?
Anybody? His phone number is disconnected and google says he's permanently closed. Surely someone around here knows? He was up in Thornhill, north of Toronto.

Re: Pearson Flyover
You start with a city tour with YTZ at night, look for aircraft going in and out of Pearson while city touring, then on your way back, when YTZ clears you, switch to terminal and ask them, or just skip the middle man and ask YYZ tower. It was pretty dead when I got to do it a few months ago. After 7...

Re: Telemedicine for medical renewal
My doc is doing mine mid June. I asked reception about not having the piss test, bp, vision, hearing, ECG for over two years now...but they are fine with it, TC is fine with it. It's the way it is. Just have to make sure your doc does them. Mine can e-mail me a copy of my letter for my booklet while...

Conflicting's post helped me, and I'm going for Class 4. Similar in ways is what I'm told. Thanks for the info.

Re: IS TRANSPORT CANADA OPEN?
I called and left a VM asking about the status of my CPL application. Within an hour someone e-mailed me back. They lost my application. I sent them a copy and within a week my CPL sticker arrived. The best service ever from a Gov't body.

Re: Self attestation for medical renewal
Called my doc. Won't see me unless I have a solid reason to. Told me to self declare and that's what I'll do this year. I also have the glasses/contacts clause but it appears that doesn't matter.

Re: From CPL to a job what’s needed?
I've just recently realised that I'm probably not going to get a gig with a fresh Group 1, so I've decided to get the CFI instead and work at the school that taught me just like youhavecontrol said. I can use some savings, or save up a little and do the Group 1 at a discount. I get experience, I'm t...

Re: Burlington school?
Yeah, I got my PPL with them, had a great instructor who was always available, cut me some discounts on PGI times etc. It wasn't until recently where it's become next to impossible to book a plane or instructor for my CPL/IFR but isn't that the name of the game right now unless you go to a 100k scho...

Re: The longer runway is worse than the shorter runway
Seems a little weird they left from across the Atlantic and never planned/considered before now a wet runway with some tailwind coming in to their destination. Am I missing something?

Re: INRAT advice
AirDoan do you not want your group 1? Go for Multi. I have all those cool sim controls etc from my FSX days (I do still use it - I think it's a great tool) but you can use the free VOR/ADF/Everything simulators from http://www.luizmonteiro.com/learning_vor_sim.aspx I'd save up for what you need for ...

Re: Choosing a flight school in the GTA
Also, nothing wrong with Harv's air (pilottraining.ca). I actually prefer it. I can study at my leisure and if I forget something I can always re-watch the video, or check out the slides. Better than being in class IMO.

Re: Choosing a flight school in the GTA
Where in the GTA do you live? I live in midtown Toronto but I make the drive out to Spectrum at CZBA and can't rave about it enough. Got my PPL there and am working on instrument/cpl right now. Great fleet. Two 152s, 2 Piper 28s, bunch of 172s, the Seneca. Red Bird. Uncontrolled airport and I think ...

It's kind of like when ancient civilisations painted on their cave's walls and then along you came and put up wallpaper.

I have one more hour of instrument to qualify. Then I hope my CFI recommends me for the signature. I'm out of ZBA. See you up there.

Tom does it quite often! There are about 10+ on the Global site right now. If he had access and the time to do more I'm sure he would.hangar3 wrote:Yeah that was actually pretty cool!![]()

Re: Jazz Vs Sky Regional
Sideline for one sec gents/ladies. I hope to finish my CPL and Multi Group1 this summer. Fingers crossed they're still hiring whenever I'm ready. My question is do I have ANY chance of getting in to a regional without a degree? I was going to go to school after high school but I ended up in a career...

Re: When will the movement slow down or stop?
Lol omg you think it's gonna slow down? It's just the start and what's even more hilarious is these airlines (let's just say teal and big red) seem to think there is an endless supply of ATPL holders waiting to work for peanuts. Well I guess they will learn taking the pilots out of hiring and repla...

TL11B 2016 Questions
Hey Guys, So I got my PPL in 2016 and I'm planning on completing my CPL in the 2017 tax season, this summer. I'm wondering if anybody has insight on how to go about claiming my 2016 taxes. Should I wait to claim my PPL until the CPL is complete? Can I do that? Or do I need to get my FTU to give me m...
