93.3% voter turnout. Is that a record? Must be close for an MOA vote.

Re: Bases and equipment
Most of the hiring being done will be for spots on the RJ and Q. YYZ Q flying is a shadow of what it used to be.
Very little ots hiring expected for the Emb.

Looks like the AC hiring portal, for both Express and OTS, will be up and running again shortly. Job IDs created for both streams of applicants.

Re: Porter receiving E195-E2?
Signing bonus for DEC's. Training to start this summer in Paris. First year pay for the left seat around 120/hr. Awaiting further details on payscale/wawcon. If Porter is looking for qualified and experienced E-jet training Captains, it will have to be a pretty healthy bonus. For qualified line Cap...

Re: Will Air Canada return to Eastern Europe?
Take this with a grain of salt, but a senior 787 captain told me (before covid) that the 321neo and 350 rumours swirling around head office had some truth to them.

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
Bidding opened yesterday for the third round of recalls. 138 spots over 8 weeks in March and April. There was an extra 44 recalled in the second round, so this leaves just under 140 to go. All types available this round except 320 and 67. How many of those 140 have deferred their recall? Hearing so...

Yes. The deadlines to do so was yesterday. SKV pilots have access to the CBA and the MOAs. Online info sessions for all Jazz and Sky pilots are planned for today and tomorrow.

Re: Air Canada Revises the Terms of its Capacity Purchase Agreement with Chorus Aviation for Regional Flying
Sky had 30 pilots about to be laid off March 2, and another 5-10 expecting layoff notices to come out mid-month. They rescinded those 30 layoffs, cancelled any planned downgrades and put those 30 pilots on a reserve block for March. Any guesses as to why they did this? I'd like imagine it was out o...

Thank you. I didn't realize that was a thing, but I guess it makes sense. If the plan is for these tails to operate at all after March 30th, the only typed pilots in Canada right now are the ones currently working for SR.

Re: New Phraseology for SIDs and STARs: Beginning April 27, 2017
Overheard coming in to YYZ the other day:
ATC: "Descend via STAR 11,000, altimeter xx.xx"
US Major: "Descend via STAR 11,000....uh, what STAR is that?'
ATC: "The one you're currently flying"
So much for "eliminating possible misinterpretation"

Re: WestJet Mainline/Encore Hiring pool
Anyone having issues with applying to the mainline job ad? I'm all set to upload my resume, but ran into Question #38, asking about having interviewed at WJ or Encore in the past 12 months, yet there's no "Yes" or "No" buttons showing beneath. I kept trying to reload the page, but it made no differe...

Re: New yyz slots..this is gonna hurt!
Had a flow delay of 2:30 the other day trying to fly BWI-YYZ. Ended up going into Hamilton instead. Once we landed, I called Flow to see if anything could be done about the delay and was told that if we accept landing on 23, with 6000ish feet, then we can depart anytime. Winds out of the west, runwa...
