Re: How do I make connections to land that firsts job?

In today's job market there is no need for connections for a first job. Just start cold calling entry level operators.

Re: Where is this so called shortage

There is a shortage, but here are still entry level positions. The good news is that the amount of time spent in those entry level positions will be much shorter for you than it was for previous generations.

Re: Captain Upgrade Times

Hi All, I've got 5000 TT with 1000 on the DHC-8-100. I've also got my ATPL and an instructional background. I'm wondering how long to upgrade to Capt at YYZ these days. Also, how long to get to training Captain, and what is the pay like? With that time, you would upgrade as soon as the next bid cam...

Captain/Training Captain Pay?

Hi All, I've got 5000 TT with 1000 on the DHC-8-100. I've also got my ATPL and an instructional background. I'm wondering how long to upgrade to Captain and what my pay would top out at (I've looked at the salary grids on this site, but I don't understand the whole "Cap" thing). Also, how long to ge...

I though that I read somewhere that industry was starting to do more training in the A/C as a result of Asiana/AF447. It looks like I was wrong.

Articles?Studies About Trainig in Real AC vs Sim

Hi All,

I'm looking for articles/studies about companies doing more training in real aircraft vs simulators after recent incidents such as the Asiana crash at SF. I'd be grateful if someone pointed me in the right direction.

If I see a picture of boobs as the first post then I'm not going to take the thread seriously, and I might question the maturity and professionalism of the poster. However looking about at the first posts I see it probably wasn't meant to be serious after all. This is a free country and I respect y...

Junior Captain Pay and Lifestyle Questions

I'm debating jumping ship from my current job for direct entry Captain at Encore. I have looked at the base pay and have a few questions. How much overtime is available at the moment? If I were to work max overtime, what could I expect in terms of gross pay (including per diems). I am assuming that ...
