Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt

Question for all you edjumacated people out there. I'm looking for a good case study on a collapsing/failed airline to read. Preferably one that goes into the nitty gritty of everything leading up to it's ultimate demise. The longer and more detailed the better. Suggestions? https://www.theglobeand...

Top guys on all the fleets probably get 80% of what they want.
After that guys can really only hope for the days off they want.

Re: Schedule satisfaction

Ha hahahahahahhahahahahahahhahaha. Satisfaction? The wide bodies have no cap on days worked. Some guys do 8 days a month and some guys do 21 days a month. Generally all but the top third are unhappy in one way or any other. The narrow body is worse. Let me introduce you to the concept of of “unstack...

Re: Retirement Age 67

But that would only allow a professional pilot to fly past 65 on commercial flights in the USA. ICAO has been for raised retirement age for years. The only obstacle has been the Americans who hold a veto. Fly to 67 will be here shortly but I don’t know how much it will help as most people seem to b...

Stop flying on your days off. The MEC is waiting to answer the phone, you shouldn’t be.
    Now thats funny! I bet that willing to fly list is about as long as the roster itself.
Judging by this weekends staffing shit show in YYZ you are wrong.

They belong to a grain family. I tried to PM you but couldn’t. Tried to PM you also Sharklasers but it looks like you have something disabled in the PM’s. Would also appreciate more info if you have and can send PM’s out eventually, thanks! I don’t think you have enough posts to send or receive PMs

Re: AC with under 2000TT

There was a 22 year old a couple classes ago that couldn’t have had much more than 2k if that high at all. There have also been lots of young Air Force guys releasing at the end of their first commitment and their TT is low as well. Generally the experience level has been staying high but every grou...

Re: Agreement in Principle reached

Does that “15.5% average increase” take into account lifting all the swoop guys up to mainline wages? Because that would really skew the average. I don’t think on its own that this is a bad deal. Major expensive scope improvement, some quality of life improvements that are on par with AC and substan...

Guys that do exclusively SYD can get their months down to 6-8 days. Gives them lots of time to recover.

Re: How long until you hear back from AC?

They have 2 classes a month. So probably May 18th/22nd class calls will go this week and the next. Then June classes etc… With people having notice periods longer than 1-2 weeks, how do they plan the classes? Or are they expecting you to be ready to join at a moments notice. People can and do, ther...

So we voted down an MOA with 80%+ in the fall, negotiated by ACPA lead by JR and HE. Now we have a negots committee still lead by these 2, plus 1 PBS guy, 1 CMSC and 1 guy with an MBA. The PBS guy, CMSC guy and MBA guy have worked on committees for a combined 24 months?Their diapers are still wet a...

Jfc... if this is the kind of delusion we're dealing with, things are only going to get worse. When are you going to realize the biggest turd in the toilet is still a piece of shit. AC compensation is garbage. And it's that way because you, as an ACPA member, allowed it to become so. It has nothing...

Re: Is this the first AIP to not be in the benefit of the company?

ACPA isn’t a fist waving old man and the fact remains that ACPA pilots are the best compensated pilots in Canada despite having no domestic peers even close to matching AC pilots on pay and pension. Maybe it isn’t ACPA holding everyone back as much as it is the other carriers holding us down. Jfc.....

Re: Is Onex sniffing around?

They already have. It's the least they could do for almost commanding the collapse of the entire industry, unique to our country. Transat was the only Canadian airline who couldn’t manage to make any money in the 2017-early 2020 window. To suggest they weren’t on a negative track precovid is highly...

Re: Is this the first AIP to not be in the benefit of the company?

ALPA hasn't been able to make any headway in Canada because of ACPA. ACPA is the old man on a 1 lane road driving 30kph in a 100 stretch blocking traffic and shaking their fist at everyone honking behind them. Be interesting to see the results a year or 2 from now. AC management sadly has timing on...
