To be clear, it’s 50 positions to be recalled or added. With 415 receiving layoff emails yesterday, and many bumping down to Encore, it’s unlikely there will be actual recalls.George Taylor wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 8:44 am There are mandated recalls at Encore stipulated in their MOA. Currently 50 pilots are being recalled.

Re: And Another -700.. Tail 702
It's another ex-WJ bird. https://www.planespotters.net/airframe/boeing-737-700-c-fewj-westjet/3x59zr Heard the 2 -700s will be based out of YYC for oil patch crew change contracts. As for CDN North's Boeing combi fleet they are currently showing 2-200s, 2-300s and 3-400s, the rest are all pax inclu...

Negotiations are on going....Freeport_Flyer wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 7:31 pm With all this talk of Swoop going on I wonder how many will choose a pink tail over a pink slip? Any word on possible mitigations to reductions?
Re: Sick Bank
I'm a laid off guy, just wondering what's happening with the sick bank program? As 120hrs is the max, are guys planning to use some of those hours prior to the New Year, or just prefer to forfeit them? I can tell you, my unused sick hours are useless to me right now. I can't use them, and I didn't ...

I assume you don't work for Swoop or Rouge? Didn't see a mass protest just a press release as quoted in my post. Asked a simple question :goodman: Nope. By choice. I think there was a protest today at a bunch of airport. No idea how well attended it was or if anyone even saw them since the airports...

Airlines do this all the time, it’s nothing newgoldeneagle wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 11:49 am An interesting strategy. Sold 9 of the max to leasing companies, and kept them with long term lease.

Re: A220 cruising altitude
Seems to be happening to new engines only. These engines are built to such tight tolerances that anything slightly out can cause an issue. Once the engines seem to get some time on them and “loosen up” they seem ok. It’s a combination software and hardware fix. Word is maybe the fix will be approve...

Re: Where is our union?
Has there ever been a confirmed case of Covid-19 transmission in an aircraft? Yes, I know of 3 FAs that got from 4th FA on board. On board ? Not in the Dunkin Donuts lineup, in the parking lot bus, in the crew room or while waiting for the aircraft at the gate ? Yup, on board the aircraft. My wife ...

Re: Government aid is comming for the airlines
Pitiful. This government is a real shame; hopefully Canada will get real leaders one day... Yah, lets get that conservative party back in power, you know, the ones that took away the right to strike for Air Canada pilots, remember them ???? Or what’s worse, a liberal government that forced a takeov...

Re: Air canada axes 30 routes
The government told people not to travel, effectively forcing airlines temporarily out of business. When the airlines asked the gov for help they got nothing...(crickets) Shutting down a bunch of regional routes is just sending a message. Help us or there will be more to come. Uh no, most of these ...

Re: Air canada axes 30 routes
AC has never been forced to fly these routes! After the CP takeover they were not allowed to cut routes for 2 years, that was the only restriction

Re: Why Can’t All Airlines Continue CEWS?
I know I have posted already about this in the Sky Regional Forum, however management at Sky has not provided a clear answer as to why. With Air Canada I could not find anywhere online why they ended the CEWS either? I was therefore looking to see from everyone’s background and industry experience ...

Re: WS/WO Layoff Mitigation Agreement
Recall rights are 120 months For a layoff yes, not sure what that has to do with a discussion about LOAs. Ummm, Blue42, you're the only one here talking about LOA. The Thread title is "Layoff Mitigation Agreement" and the news article was about AC laying off it's employees and taking them...

Re: WS/WO Layoff Mitigation Agreement
Unless it is stated in a labour agreement, than it is 12 months. Pilots are protected as your CBA states 120 months. My understanding for this is the law, right now, states that anyone on a LOA for 6 months is then required to be paid a severance from the company. Asking for a let on this is to all...

Re: WS/WO Layoff Mitigation Agreement
It's the CBC reporting so have a shot of tequila and then some salt. It looks at first glance like ONEX is trying to skirt the law. If so, Westjetters, move to stop this before it impacts other companies. A precedent is all that is required for the others. https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/westjet-e...
