Re: Picking up opentime
Didn’t flica have a subscription you could pay for that would notify you if something came in open? Of course, I’m not sure if it would pick it up for you or just notify you which means you’d have to be available to get it assigned to you. Yes its $14US a month for the alerts which is hefty for the...

Re: WestJet Suspending Flights Between YYZ and YUL.
I don’t even know why this made it on the news. Slow news day I guess. It was 1 flight/day. A fraction of a percent of WestJets flying. There will most likely be a WestJet base in YUL this time next year with Sunwing coming on board. Probably lots of flying out of YUL then. Especially since this wa...

Re: Westjet blocking average
 6.35 hours per day. That’s horrible. Works for me, that's actual flight time. With trip rigs and the rest, the credit ends up being more. So like I said I work 12 days a month. And that's not doing single days. Guys working single days work less days. Lots of variety for what ever work you p...

Re: YYC Route Suspensions
Is the YYC base so unprofitable they want to close it, or maybe just give the west to westjet ? Interesting times, the timetable has changed for February, no more direct flights to yxe/yqr. If WJ and AC both agreed to stay in their respective backyards, they could keep prices high, as the competiti...

Re: WestJet's New Routes: Calgary - Dubai & Calgary - Edinburgh?
Who would fly from YYC to Dubai? If you want to go to an unaffordable featureless place in the middle of nowhere floating on a lake of oil, then take a trip to Ft. MacMurray - at least they won't stone you to death for taking a sip of alcohol! And, if you want to transit elsewhere in the world, go ...

Re: Should Air Canada be nationalized
CPDLC has launched in several US centres. The infrastructure is there nationwide. No doubt we will see national KUSA coverage soon. We asked a US controller one day when theirs would be on line for Canadian aircraft, the response was “you will be able to once you guys are caught up!” 😂. It was sile...

There were some liquor stores around the YYC airport that gave discounts. Railyard brewery just north of the airport gives a discount too.

Re: Flair Closes Call Center Because it's "Too Busy"
Greyhound, Vistajet, Jetsgo…… Greyhound was a joke, Vistajet is a corporate business jet company (not ULCC), and Jetsgo was run by Michel Leblanc (don't need to add anything else), I mean really who the hell is going to make money on $5 seat tickets running NON-RVSM MD80s? Vistajet operated 1 or 2 ...

Re: Flair Closes Call Center Because it's "Too Busy"
... - but they all have the same formula. ULCC's will not work.... ... People here (mostly Westjet fans) keep saying this. I would suggest that the ULCC model has never been tried in Canada. Not an Airline In an Airline (Swoop/ Rouge), not a cheep fee structure by a new name every 6 months (AC's li...

Re: WestJet Dedicated Freighters
Does it? It's probably safe to assume that if the junior westjet pilots wanted to fly night cargo, they would have gone to a night cargo operator. I haven't flown night cargo, but I did night medevac, and I can honestly say I would take a non aviation job over going back to the night flying any day...

Re: More WJ layoffs
It should be painfully clear to WestJet pilots by now that they were let down by a few individuals who did not even trust them and made the decision for them as benevolent kings do for their subjects. Ummm, ok Westjet pilots flying in April and onwards are now being paid FULL PAY for their position...

Another problem for the 737 Max... Boeing's 737 Max has a new problem that will ground some of the jets again https://www.cnn.com/2021/04/09/business/boeing-737-max-electrical-problem/index.html Doesn’t affect AC fleet at all, even WS had only 1 aircraft affected by this and it was the recent deliv...
