Re: 704/705 pilots still flying in GA

I remember a guy being interviewed on TV while seated inside a glider.
When asked why flying those, he answered « For its simplicity »

He was a Concorde co-pilot at the time....

Ok, So those who are complaining about a reporter trying to get an idea here of what happened should definitely not complain if the article (that could be written anyway) Will be full of inexactitudes. You are given a chance to straight things up, why not doing it!? I applaude him being forthcoming,...

You mention the Air Force simply as a carrier opportunity. Sure, but remember there is quite a selection process to get in and it take a lot of dedication once on board.

Re: C-47 Takeoff Groundloop and Crash

As the man said in his video, they did the basic stuff for a Type rating but since we are talking about a twin taildragger. Well, of course most of the work to learn how to handle this particular aircraft had to be when its wheels touch ground. When I did my initial training at Basler, right from th...

Re: C-47 Takeoff Groundloop and Crash

Initially I thought of them loosing power on one engine in a bad spot the way they were swerving (up into the grass it seems) Being busy staying centered it looks like they forgot to properly raise their tail past 40/50kts Or left the elevator locks on. Doing so would put you “airborne” in a pretty ...

Almost all the inspectors are fair and easy to deal with, however like any part of society there will be a few real misfits Wait a minute, there is a well-known former poster from this forum who has me convinced that almost every TC inspector is evil. Re: Getting a new Aviation booklet!

You should eventually get a "Medical Certificate" sticker to apply on top of whatever restriction written on page 16(!?) of your aviation booklet.
Expect 3 months or more to get it from the time of your last medical.

TC is not speedy Gonzales in that regard....

I never understood this necessity of doing “flight test/PPC/PCC” I don’t recall trucks/bus drivers or ships crews having to do that. Real world, for being responsible for the lives of 100 people and a $15,000,000.00USD jet, the pay should be a CLEAN (as in per the CBA) $100k USD STARTING, as in year 1 FO, until they start putting numbers out there like that they will have staffing issues. Besides its kinda a mute point as no one is getting a visa to work for a airline over here, ...
