Re: Hey there are more then just 2 of you in the crew

I think some of you are missing the point of this thread. It's not to feed your crew, hand over your crew meals and so on, but if there is an extra crew meal or two, ask if they want it before you toss it. Or if you’re going to Tims, just a quick "do you want anything" and get some cash from them is...

Hey there are more then just 2 of you in the crew

Happy new years all. Just a friendly reminder that there are 3 (sometimes 4) of you in the crew. and when your getting hungery or craving a caffine fix, maybe the FA(s) are to. My girlfriend is an FA at Jazz, numerous times she has told me how she was stuck on the RJ without time to go grab a bite i...

You look at those PICS and think it had to be a hard landing. But then you think: if it was that hard should it not have collapsed on landing not on the taxiway? Also, the PAX would have been screaming to the media they crashed or hit an air pocket. If it took the corner too fast, you would think it...

Personally I would not have departed. I was not there or even in the area, but with that kind of weather reported, I would have waited. why risk it? Wait a few mins and then go. Many have died to make up the rules we follow. And some times following the herd is not a bad thing if the herd is doing t...

Tony Maybe wingtip is like many to get there dreams of flying for our nations flag carrier stomped. Seriously, I see it daily and it does make one bitter. You do all the right things, get all the right experience, an education, and because your from Jazz, or not of "royal blood" you don't get hired....

Pre Sept11 AC was offering direct entry CPT seats on the RJ's but if you failed the course you were let go, or so the story goes. Funny that AC can't find pilots to fill those left seats on the jungle jets, while at the same time there turning down Jazz pilots left right and center. some of whom are...

It amazes me, the sense of entitlement guys seem to be getting when they have 5000+ hours and seem to think that AC owes them a job. The reason why some 2500 hour pilots are getting hired is because of their interview . AC can train an enthusiastic pilot, what they don't want is the "attittude" tha...

Yes there is an average of 2-3 per course.
We keep hearing about 40% in future courses, or a total of 200-300 pilots hired from Jazz over the next couple of years, but I'm wondering if thats not wishfull thinking, or a rumor gone wildly out of hand. Time will tell I guess.

Tony, No Jazz new hires have been hired by mainline - so no, were not getting better seniority #'s, or any for that matter. BUT, there have been plenty of Jazz new hires called for AC interviews the first week of GS but were turned down because they already worked for Jazz (ACE). Now if your referin...

Jazz guys getting hired at mainline, why the attitude?

Every other time I talk to some new hire (that I don’t know) at AC about us Jazz guys joining the mother ship, I get attitude!?!? What gives? LOU, flow through (right, never again happen), guaranteed interview, whatever, I get attitude. Why is this? Mention were getting a guaranteed interview, it ge...

I’m sorry but I fail to see how being a flight attendant is of “equal value” to the fight crew. Did they spend 50K on training? Working 6-7 days a week only to make poverty wage for the first few years? How about spending 10 years to get to the majors to again be paid less than the night shift manag...

Being that income funds are about shareholder return, I truly hope that those shareholders are employee productivity geared (happy employees are productive/profitable) not nickel and dime geared.

I can remember dealing with an inspector in YWG years ago. This guy is a piece of work. I was quoteing him CARS and all he would say was "I will disallow that" or something about an "internal company memo". The guy actually yelled at me and started swearing when I questioned me. What an ass. All I w...

 It's not about "time" if you don't have any, but it sure is if you have good time and haven't been called. Honestly it's a bit of a kick in the pills. Still too early to be crying "no fair" though. With the new hiring process in place I think it will be geared to those more deserving (reguardl...

Trying to get to mainline, need help.

Ok here's the situation: Did the Jazz interview, sim is next step. Got a call from a good company that fly's 1900's and other heavier equipment for an interview. I can probibly jump onto a 1900, and if i'm there long enough work my way to DASH8 or maybe even a Jet. This is not a tier 3 opperator, it...

A little rant about engines on condition

A lot of companies fly around with engines on condition, they have to pass “tests” (sorry I forgot the technical name for it) to keep it certified commercially. But, when I can't make full power on T/O, can't even pull red line torque with the power levers fire-walled or temped out on the runway, NG...
