Re: DAC Aviation
Applied earlier this year and they replied, and were interested selling it to me as an opportunity to fly humanitarian missions and give something back to humanity. I wrote back asking for terms, conditions and salary details and never heard back from them. Then a friend of mine who knows their base...

Re: Conair
The CP didn’t leave. There are a few retirements in the list and therefore some movement within the matrix. Great place to work. Awesome team and outstanding flying. Conair is a reputable and well managed company. Like everything in life - you get out of it what you put in. Apply if this line of wor...

Class 1 Medical Validity Q
Now I’m totally confused - just turned 40 and read that 40 or older the Class 1 is valid 6 months - not a full year. So, say the medical is done/passed/received on March 20 is it valid until Sept 20, or can I get by stretching it until Oct 01 for the next renewal? I just talked to somebody in Transp...

Thanks guys. How does TC charge the $55 normally? Can we pay it after the medical online directly to TC?

CAME fees
Howdy,
was wondering what everybody is paying these days to their CAME for a Class 1 renewal? Are there any guidelines published by TC for what the Doc can charge us for the entire exam? Is there still the $55 charge from TC for the paperwork thereafter?
Thanks

Re: Why does everyone want to work at Air Canada?
Thanks for the illumination - no racism, misogyny or bitterness here brother... I stated facts. Facts that represent a snap shot in time of ACs former hiring practices before the current shortage. Those three people I mentioned are still good friends and we are still in contact - so, to expand on my...

Re: Why does everyone want to work at Air Canada?
Great question(s)... I wanted to aspire to a career at AC when I was first starting out - but when I started to see how the industry really worked after getting that first big break - I dropped the idea... however, later on in my career I applied twice to see what would happen. I was successful both...

Re: Float pilot pay
Am doing 16000USD/mnth with Maldivian (IASL) in Maldives - skipper on a floating Hog! You are making almost 200,000 Canadian flying a sea plane? And what is a floating hog? Is it a Twin Otter on floats? Howdy Cat, not doing the whole year - just the winter season 5 to 5.5 months long. Ya, Floating ...

Re: Float pilot pay
Am doing 16000USD/mnth with Maldivian (IASL) in Maldives - skipper on a floating Hog! Heard those days were long gone? My DHC6 captain who used to be down there was doing $10,000 USD a month. Ya heard wrong bubba - high time float drivers can name their rate - 16k/mnth is all in no extras - that co...

Re: are there any bush pilots older than 72 still working?
What are the actual restrictions regarding flying commercially after 65? Is it non-passenger operations only, including multi-crew (no single pilot) with a copilot younger that 60? I can never remember. I met a group of really nice older (65+) fire bomber pilots up in Watson Lake who were all happil...

Re: The Next Steps
Sounds like you need to go get a float rating and give TMA/IASL in Maldives your resume. Go fly in the 'Dives, get a Cptns seat on the Otter and then head back to Yellowknife and do the summers back in the bush and winters down in the Indian Ocean! Dream life!! Let us know what you decide! The Twin ...
