Not to sound gloomy, but with the current state of the airline industry apply and take anything you can get at this point. Most big airlines have a good chunk of their AME's, Furnishing Tech's and Apprentices still furloughed so your better option are with smaller operators or large MRO's. KF Aerosp...

Not a pilot, but part of an employee group that is extremely busy taking care of the Jets while they are not flying.

If Centennial is closer to where you currently live, I'd go there. Save your money for when you start your apprenticeship just incase you need to relocate. CARs for the AME is a great place to start. It's the book they use in the colleges, and have a few practice exams at the end that I used to study when I wrote the exam.
